RE: Verizon Aircard

One thing you might want to check out......AT&T Go phones have a different coverage map from the usual phones. I don't know why that would be, but check out the coverage maps for AT&T.

RE: NO PETS allowed?

This is the periodic Dog posting. Yes there are really dog haters out there....How about this one, I was taking a nice walk around a small lake the other day and stepped in DEER poop, darn. Walked a little farther and stepped in Racoon poop, double darn. There was poop all over the place, but no dogs. I guess they'd better ban all animals from these RV parks.

RE: Air Conditioner throwing circuit breaker for unk reason

I had the exact problem last week in San Antonio. Got back to Oklahoma City (home) and had the same problem, except I know the voltage is good here. Just because I can do it, and it is pretty cheap, I changed all of the capacitors in the roof unit. Cost about $26.00. This is pretty technical so I won't go into details, but if you have the RVP products (Coleman MACH series) they have a lot of problems with the PTCR device, which is the compressor start capacitor. Anyway, ran it the entire day yesterday with no breaker tripping. Do a google search for more info. Just a thought.....Good luck.

RE: North Beach Camp Resort St. Augustine, FL

We stayed there a couple of years ago. I pretty much agree with OP. You really need to be careful with a bigger 5th wheel....tree limbs everywhere. I think I had the exact spot depicted and it was a real bear to back the 27' rig into. I don't think I could get my present rig into this spot. We did take the dogs onto the beach after crossing a busy highway so be careful.

RE: How does it do it?

It's got nothing to do with AT&T....all cellphones emit a RF signal which can interfere with electronic equipment.

RE: How does it do it?

Alcolby, you and I understand the ins and outs of this but a simple "RF is being induced into the speaker" is sufficient for layman. LOL

RE: How does it do it?

RF from the cellphone transmitter is being induced into the windings of the speaker coil....

RE: Cradlepoint 350 vs Cradlepoint 500

I have the CTR500 and really like it. Cradlepoint needs to re-design the external antenna connection as it is a little "iffy." I stream Wi-Fi radio all the time and it handles things superbly.

RE: How does it do it?

Your cell phone is always listening and talking to cell sites as long as it is powered on. Cell sites are listening to cell phones and deciding which cell to assign you to...all the time. Cell sites even control the power of your cell phone so that it doesn't interfere with other cell sites. When you get a call, the system has to know where you are so that it can route the call to you and turn on your transmitter, thus the buzzing in the speakers. It comes from your cell phone transmitter being activated. As you travel down the road cell sites are constantly evaluating your signal strength and when you leave one site it must switch your cell phone to the new site along with the call you are receiving, thus the "pop" sound occassionally. It's all very amazing....

RE: Need new cellphone.....AT&T???

Try Ebay. I just bought a slightly used Samsung A737 for $65.00. Blue Tooth does not cost anything and it allows you to link up the phone with your computer wirelessly. They also make wireless bluetooth headsets, etc. I've been with AT&T for years but I'm getting to where I don't like the 2 year contract deal for a "free" phone. AT&T doesn't really know or care what kind of phone you're using, just remove the SIM card from your old one and put it into the new one. You can move the SIM between several phones if you want.

RE: Satellite TV ??

Stand doesn't have to be level. Loosen the elevation bolts enough so that you can move dish up and down. Use satellite signal strength meter. Pick up whole rig and slowly move it in the general direction of the satellite, tilting up and down. You'll hit a satellite pretty quick. Might not be the right one but you will be in the general area. Put tripod back down on ground and fine tune elevation. Sounds complicated but is really pretty easy. I can find satellite within a few minutes. good luck

RE: Air conditioner fan isn't comming on anymore

I had the same thing happen. Had a yellow jacket nest inside the shroud stopping the fan from turning. Was on the roof and when I removed the shroud I almost fell off......be careful.

RE: Carry bikes on smooth rear 5er

Look underneath the rig...is there any sign of the frame rails? If so, you can probably add a rear receiver. Try talking to the Cardinal folks and see if there is an option for a rear receiver. Good luck.

RE: best pontoon boat

JC makes a really good tritoon. A little more reasonable, Voyager 21', fish and ski, with the triple pontoons. I have one, 135hp Merc, and it actually planes like a deep v boat. Pulls multiple skiers, tubes, etc. Good luck

RE: generators

Never heard of Ramsond Sinemate. If you're thinking along those lines (China) then check out the Boliy 3600si. I'm very pleased with mine. www.boliyguy.com It's easy to lift, quiet, about half the price of the Japanese brands, and powerful. Good luck.

RE: Flat Tire On 5er At Campground

Oh come on....I changed all four tires in Mission, TX this past winter while parked at my site. Just make sure you have your tires chocked, and use a bottle jack on the spring hanger area of the axle. Jack up ONE tire just far enough to get it off, then put the spare on, and let the trailer down. Though a little time consuming, you can easily change all tires with this method. When jacking up one tire it will not lift the whole side of the trailer off the ground. The spring on that one tire will compress enough to get the tire off. Good luck.

RE: Do you Refill your Disposable Propane Canisters?

50 bucks for the 5lb cylinder NOT to build the refilling rig. I agree, the 5lb cylinder is way too high, indeed, what a rip off.

RE: cig. cost in canada

I'm thinking I would just stay in the good old USA, where smoking is still kind of legal, although that could change. Good luck.

RE: cig. cost in canada

Would it be possible to "forget" that you had a couple of cartons stored somewhere safely?
