RE: Trailer wheel bearings

I repack mine once a year and ALWAYS replace with a new seal. Also check brakes and magnet wear once everything is taken apart. I think they both say inspect and/or replace at 12 months or 12,000 miles. Hope this helps.

RE: Problem Trip

Don't forget to check your tires and bearings. A blowout from old tires, or a wheel bearing failure can ruin a great camping trip. Good luck on your camping travels.

RE: Just some questions on the 16 inch tire upgrade

If your rims will handle the 80 psi, you can use the the MAXXIS 225/75R15 LRE. I upgraded my rims and tires back in March of this year and have had no problems. But you are still running a ST tire with a speed rating of max 65 mph. There are others that have upgraded to the 16" rim and tire combo, they used a 225/75 R16 and if I recall only lost about !/2" clearance between the tires and it raised the camper about 1/2". It just depends on how muchmoney you are willing to spend. Good luck and lt usknw what you decide.

RE: Yes I did it tonight! Dropped the fiver!

Do you know what went wrong, was it a problem with the hitch or just operator error? I see you are using the Curt Q24, I am looking to purchase a new Q20 around March 2013. Just wondering. Sorry for your misfortune. But post like these make me more app to double check everything.

RE: 1/2 ton pickup for parking 5th wheel RV's ?

I tried using a 96 Chevy Z-71 EXT Cab SB just to move mine around in my yard. The back of the bed wanted to rise up into the underside of mine. Most of your 5ers weigh to much to try that. Like ohers have asked, will your insurance cover any damages and liabilities that might arise if something goes wrong??

RE: JT Stabilizer Squeaks

I don't want to ask a stupid question, but I have to ask what "JT's" are? You can find out about them HERE. They are used to take the shake out of a trailer.

RE: SuperGlide 18k hitch - standard bed pickup

Mine was mounted on a 99 F250 SD LB. Stayed there for 5 years. I like the range of movement that the hitch head has more than some of the others I have used. I am now considering putting it on my 02 F350SD LB and build a bracket to stop the slide from working. If it was thrown in with the deal, then that is more money you can spend on camping and other goodies you want for the camper.:B

RE: How to Secure Superglide

I replaced all the pins in the hitch head, main unit and the extention bars with grade 8 bolts, washers and locknuts. Stayed that way until 3 weeks ago when I finally took it out of the truck.

RE: Wheely wheely need wheels

I use Trailer Tire and Wheels. Received mine in in 2 days and free shipping. Also, look at replacing your lug nuts and center caps at the same time. I went with the stainless steel center caps because I didn't want to see them rust in a couple of months.

RE: TNC 3000 Power Converter

Trace the positive lead from the battery, you should find a 30amp, 40amp, or a 50amp breaker inline. Mine looked good and tested good but when a load was applied, it would fail. The unit had been stressed when the battery moved and pulled the cable and cracked it in half. HERE is a link to show you what they look like. Hope you get it fixed.

RE: 1999 Automate 30' - First 5th Wheel

I would be curious to know why there is 2 different prices listed. $10,500 at the top of the add and $13,850 at the bottom.

RE: New 5er Purchase Walk Through

Printable copy HERE. Check EVERYTHING to make sure it works. Also have them fill the water tank and make sure there are no leaks. I have watch people listen to the salesman and forget that it is not hooked up to a water system. Hope this helps you and good luck.

RE: Another question about the Pullrite Superglide

To the OP, what model Pullrite do you have? I have a model 4400, which is an 18K and it does pivot 4 way.

RE: Water leak in outside wall

Welcome. A little more info on the year, make, and model of your RV might get you a better responce. Somebody here might know a short cut way of repairing it. Good luck with your repair.

RE: Maxxis ST Tires

I put the Maxxis 225-75 R15 on the rig in my sig earlier this year. I only wish I had put them on earlier.

RE: television Antenna

If you are wanting to get a unit that you don't have to crank up and down everytime, then I would go with the JACK by King Controls.

RE: Anybody got a side shiffter??

For $8000 you could by a second, smaller trailer for the tight spots. :-) Yep..or it can buy alot of fuel to pull the 5er I got:)
