RE: ethanol treatment & generators

I have a local Fast Track station that advirtises ethanol-free 91 octane. I use it in my small engines and am trying a tank for towing this weekend.

RE: 12 V plug question

Positive should be on the center pin. I'd verify it with a voltmeter first.

RE: Power Awning?

The old HTT had a manual awning, the new TT has a power one.
Given a choice I'd have gone with the manual awning, as Wis says they can be tied down.

RE: How much HP & torque do I need ?

I came out of an I-6 Envoy (yes, smoked the transmission even with an additional cooler) towing a 4500# hybrid. My "line in the sand" was 350 ft-lb of torque for the next TV. At 420 ft-lbs, the Eco-Boost has it covered.
Alas, bigger TV=bigger TT. It's a vicious cycle, I tell 'ya.

RE: Charging a deep cycle battery with lighter guage wire

What truck / trailer combination do you have? 7-pin trailer connections have a pin for a charge line and it can be wired to the battery and charged off the truck.

RE: Kitchen faucet

Yes, just measure the distance between the hot and cold faucets. It should be 8".

RE: Cement slab help

I thought fiber mesh took the place of steel wire & rebar?
I'd use a 4000# / 6-bag mix for outside flat work.

RE: What are u or would you use to tow this 26 Tbud trailer..

What's the GVW and payload rating on a truck like you want already on the lot? Don't go by the Ford brochure or website, their weight ratings are for a stripped-down truck.
Welcome to 1/2-ton towing, where you run out of payload before running out of tow capacity.

Ebay is another source for 12V lights.

RE: rv shows

We bought our pop-up at a show but the HTT and new TT were bought in January & February. I think the dealers were a bit more motivated to make a sale in a snowstorm.

RE: Adding a second battery?

FWIW and YMMV:
I had 2-12V G27 batteries on our old HTT that will get mounted on the new TT. And I'm adding the IOTA-55 deck mount converter I have in the front storage compartment because A) it had a better charging circuit than the factory WFCO and B) it's a 3' wire run to the batteries.
The TT's been converted to LED lighting and we rarely use the furnace.
To do over again I'd go with a pair of 6V batteries. But what I have now should do fine considering I have a generator & can run it for a few hours to charge the batteries as needed.

RE: Upstate NY

The Strong Museum is awesome for kids, DD and our granddaughter have family memberships. There's also the Memorial Art Gallery, George Eastman House, and Rochester Museum & Science Center.
You can also try the Corning Glass Museum.
If you plan to go on the Canadian side of the Falls you'll need a passport or enhanced drivers license.
Letchworth, Watkins Glen, and Taughannock Falls SP are good sightseeing parks. Don't go to Watkins on a race weekend though.

RE: Bought a used HTT today!

Congrats! We traded our '05 21SSO on the hardside in my sig. The dealer couldn't believe how little-used it appeared. When we picked up the new TT they said it had been sold already. Somebody got a nice HTT.

Yup, traded our 21SSO on the hardside in my sig. I'm about half way through my list of mods to set it up the way we want it.
Welcome to the dark side!

RE: brake issue

"By the book" says you replace the brake shoes and clean up everything else. Brake shoes are somewhat porous and will absorb any grease that gets on them.
That said, in my younger days I would clean the shoes off with a brake degreaser and have even boiled them in a strong soap solution. YMMV.

RE: Pets are NOT to be left unattended... what??

We were in a nice cg a few years back but the neighbors left their 2 yapping dogs locked in their 5er all day. I complained to the cg manager and was told "there's nothing we can do about it". I told him I didn't have to bother him with our business again either.

RE: Trailblazer Successor

I went from an I-6 Envoy to the F150 in my sig. Since it's mostly DW & me it works out OK, a much more stable and capable TV with the new TT than the Envoy was with our smaller HTT. And it rides smoother than DW's Toyota Venza. With a 36 gallon tank it almost doubles the range of the Envoy.

RE: inverter size

And it'll need 950 watts of AC power at full output. So you're looking at something bigger than a 1000 watt generator, more like a Honda 2000i at a minimum.

RE: Batteries: Marine/RV or Marine?

If you dry camp you might want to consider going to a G27 battery over a G24.
Or go off the deep end for 2 - 6 volt batteries.
