RE: Unusual sounds coming from undercarriage of TT

yep...certain it is from below....we checked the roof, everything is clear, we have a roof mounted satellite and it is solid as a rock... we have had some significant wind gusting and since the front stabilizers were adjusted, thus far, no more sound...all it took was a *slight* amount of adjustment...

RE: Unusual sounds coming from undercarriage of TT

the frustrating thing is we cannot replicate the noise by trying to rock the trailer....it happens during high wind....one positive thing is we adjusted the stabilizers in front (one had worked it's way lower than the other) and the noise seems to be gone (admittedly the wind isn't as high as yesterday) ....hopefully the stabilizer issue was the culprit! thank you to everyone who kindly responded with suggestions...

RE: Unusual sounds coming from undercarriage of TT

sbrk, yikes, that would be crazy....this is a 2011....if the body is coming away from the frame that would be a serious manufacturing flaw... there seems to be no easy way to find where this noise is coming from without disassembling the under carriage...seems like any strange noise that comes from underneath the coach is a pretty big red flag though

RE: Unusual sounds coming from undercarriage of TT

this noise seems to be originating under the front part of the trailer (almost feels like it is coming from under the queen bed).......but if it is coming from say for example some kind of flexing in the frame, the sound and vibration could be 'felt' at some distance from the point of origination...... the tongue jack sitting on blocks right now

RE: Unusual sounds coming from undercarriage of TT

no, nothing like that....the sound is intense enough to feel a vibration in the trailer...it is coming from the front end and when you are lying down in bed, you can 'feel' it....which tends to make me think it is coming from the framework of the undercarriage....just a gust of wind (causing the trailer to move) will generate the sound....almost like something is banging around underneath the floor

Unusual sounds coming from undercarriage of TT

Hello everyone...I have a Forest River 'Wildcat' TT (2011) that has developed a strange 'clunk' or banging sound while PARKED...you can hear it when you walk around or even if the wind is blowing and the trailer is shifting slightly from the wind..the sound is coming from the front end (where the bedroom is)...originally I thought it might be metal contracting sounds from the floor vents, but now I am beginning to wonder if there is some kind of flexing of the frame itself causing this... does anyone have any idea what might be causing this type of noise? unfortunately, forest river's 'owners manual' is pretty worthless when it comes to a schematic or diagram of the framing and other components beneath the TT... Thanks to all for any response
