RE: Battery disconnect

I have 2 switches on the wall near my doorway, one turns off the house battery's and the other one turns off the 12 Volt starter battery. last summer the one switch that controls the starter battery got bumped off somehow while I was in a park on shore Power, I got about 5 miles down the road and it acted as if I had run out of gas because the injector could not inject fuel...I was stuck for 2 days and after 2 different people and a Tow into a shop,(plus $700.00) later it was found, flipped back up and we were on our way again...those switched can be tricky, so check out well.... good Luck

Nu-Wave Induction Stove tops

I'm seeing these TV ad's for the "New cooking methods" using Induction cooking and it looks like a counter top single burner. my question is they say it takes less power but are these safe to use in our Motor Homes ? if they draw less power I would say Yes, however in so many things if it is to good to be true, then....you guessed it...it's not true.. so has anyone bought one of these and tested the Power usage and electric pull in the wiring of the RV ? are these safe ? or just, Well TV.... being that we use shore power for the most part it would be great if it were true, but I do not want to either burn up my rig, or short out the power for the line of rigs along side of me. Thank you for any insight Happy and Safe Travels to all,

Radiator flush and fill

I'm getting ready to have the Radiator flushed and filled, any suggestions as to what is the best to re-fill ? I've heard of some water-less type products that help keep the motor cool and doesn't rust, is this as good as it sounds ? or what would you suggest ? Thank you in advance for any help. Rick

RE: Wall paper or what ?

Thank you to everyone, what type of paint would you suggest ? a oil base or water base, I was also thinking about covering it in a Fabric or leather like upholstery do you think that would work and look ok ? I was watching the TV show Extreme RV on the travel channel and they are doing some real trick things in the new rig's. I'm putting a new floor in the Bedroom, a new bed plat form with w lift up for storage and looked at the old style wall's and said yuk...so it's now time to do the wall's too...

RE: attaching Sun Screens to your RV

attaching Sun Screens to your RV

Does anyone know where I can buy the swivel snaps to attach to the RV so that I can make some sun shades for the RV, I do not want snaps that you must press down, but instead the ones that you slide the shade onto then twist the knob to lock it in. Thanks

RE: replacing stove/oven with cooktop

I like the idea, I've thought of doing the same thing with a infrared cook top and putting in a small freezer or fridge for extra items, or perhaps extra storage. with the new micro-conv. ovens most anything is possible, unless you camp with out electric hook ups. good luck, keep us posted on how it turns out if you do it...

RE: inside roof line and linning

LED's light require very room, venting is using flat venting... as far as the cabinets, it's simply, you add a new wood shin over them, change the hardware and you have a new whole look, I've done the floors, I just do not want to go in and buy another rig, which unless it is new, means I'm buying someone else's problems. I've got this rig running and being older, it's simple,no computer system to go bad, also one the outside is repainted it won't look like a old rig. I just don't want to spend 50K-100K for a Newer rig, when I can convent this, and if I'm doing the work ?

inside roof line and linning

I have a 1992 Bounder, it has a curved roof with the lining, my question is, I want to update the rig, most of the New rigs have flat roofs with the lighting, air, etc... my question is, How do I connect to a curved roof with out going up threw the roof..(or do you, then patch) I would like to run a flat roof so that I could add in new LED lights, re-route the Air and venting...how do I connect the light weight framing up to the ceiling ? also I would like to add some insulation to help cut back on the AZ heat and Oregon Cold, and perhaps the sound of the Birds feet as they stomp around. ha ha ha Is this all possible and worth it ? I am going threw the whole rig and updating and replacing the entire thing. Also does anyone know where to buy low cost but good veneer's to update the cabinets and perhaps this new Ceiling. Thank you Everyone for any help and/or advise.

RE: How to left the front Dash Panel on a 1992 Bounder

I know how to raise the cluster panel, I was wanting to remove or lift the whole big dash area, the part that goes from the left side of the Rig to the right.. the entire flat surface. I'm hoping that the whole thing comes out or up. Thanks

RE: Re-Flooring Older RV- Recommendation needed - Phoenix Area

I did it myself, it was fairly easy, I went to home depot and bought a product called Allur, which does NOT need a under liner or padding. just pull the carpet up and this can go down on the plywood..you can get this product to look like wood, marble or about anything you want. they have samples at home depot or another home improvement place, it doesn't snap together like the well know wood flooring, it has a glue edge on each side, so once in place it will set up, it is also easy to change your mind, I put one in, then found out I did not match my pattern like I wanted to, so I gently pulled it up and corrected it....it has held now for 1 1/2 and I did the kitchen, now that I like it I'm planning on pulling ALL of the carpet in the front room and bed room and do the same, perhaps a different look in each area.... and it is low coast enough that I can change the look every 3-4 years...so check it out...and good luck

How to left the front Dash Panel on a 1992 Bounder

I need to rewire some items and also replace the Dash A/C fan Motor, so I'm thinking it might be easier to left the giant front dash panel, that way I can get to the venting, wiring, etc. is there a trick to this, or do I simply remove the screws around the edge and lift ? being a 1992 Bounder there will not be a lot of computer issues,(thank goodness) but not sure what else I'll find... so is this the best thing to do ? The panel which shows tank levels have stopped working which the dash fan burned out and I've tracked and replaced all the fuses therefore I think there is a burnt wire to search for. I also want to lube up the temp control wires to move easier... Thank you in advance for any help you might offer..
