RE: Battery Watering Systems

Very simple to install and use. Just installed mine this morning on my four 6 volts. My 2 rear ones were difficult to see the water level without crawling over the top of the front two.

RE: question about a switch on a 1994 fourwinds 5000 class a

I sold my 94 Four Winds 5000 2 years ago. I think the switch was for the step light or power/light for the step. I will be glad to help with any other questions you might have. I had it for about 4 years so I might be able to help. Just post them or send a private message. Michael

RE: Looking for best advice on meeting perspective buyers

I forgot to add, I always ask where they are coming from and tell them to call or text when they are ready to leave and I will send the address. I do not ever give it out for someone who wants to come in a few days.

RE: Looking for best advice on meeting perspective buyers

I have had great results selling a Class C and a Class A on Craigslist in the last few years. Post 8 good pictures with a good complete description of your motorhome including options, any upgrades you might have done and how you maintained it. Have another 25-50 pictures available to email prospective buyers. There are scammers on Craigslist but most will be through email and they are not that hard to spot. I always include my cell phone number in the ad and make them call or text if they want more info or pictures. When listing your phone number, always use this format: 817-22four-9265. When you use text for one of the numbers, it eliminates any computer generated text messages. Also add NO EMAILS right after the phone number information. Typically if someone is really interested they won’t have a problem calling you and providing their email address for the additional pictures. I typically meet them at my house and if they want to test drive, I go with them. On both of my units the first folks that test drove them bought them. As far a pricing goes, NADA is a good starting point but very few sellers seem to be getting the NADA numbers in today’s market. Look online at Ebay and Craigslist to see what folks are asking for similar models and look at Ebay completed auctions to see what they are actually getting. If you are priced too high on Craigslist you won’t get any calls or emails. Get the price close to market value (not NADA) and the buyers will find you. Both of my buyers paid with certified banks checks. I just sold my BMW convertible on Craiglist last week and shipped it to Florida this past Saturday. Same deal, certified bank check deposited and cleared prior to sending title. I have sold thousands of items on Ebay and hundreds on Craigslist without any issues or falling for any scams. Send me a message if you would like any more info on the process. Hope this helps. Michael

RE: Do Toad's Really Get Beat Up Back There? Looking at new CR-V

I picked up the new CR-V last week. At a minimum I am going to use a front end bra. Will most likely get it broke in a few months before setting up to tow. Thanks again for all the replies. You just can't beat real world experience. Michael

RE: Engine stalling 2000 Winabago V 10

Make sure you don't have a wet air filter. The housing design can let water in while driving in the rain.

RE: 2005 Monaco unbearable front end noise

I had a similar issue on an older gasser a couple of years ago at similar speeds. It ended up being the small open ends of the front grill bars catching the wind. While I know your set up is completely different, maybe it could be something similar like wind coming in around a headlight or a leaking/torn seal around the front generator compartment, etc.. Maybe try taping up around so of those areas for a test run. Just my thoughts on it..... Michael

RE: Do Toad's Really Get Beat Up Back There? Looking at new CR-V

Thanks again to all for the replies. This is a lot of good experienced information which was exactly what I was looking for. As said in the OP, I tend to buy new about every 12-15 years and like for my vehicles to remain somewhat new looking for as long as possible. I will be purchasing the CR-V in the next few weeks and will keep you posted on my towing experience along the way. Next up for me is to decide on which brake system to use. Leaning toward Blue Ox Base Plate and the NSA Ready Brute Elite Towbar. Thanks again for all the help. Michael

RE: Do Toad's Really Get Beat Up Back There? Looking at new CR-V

Thanks for all the good information. I will be towing with my 2000 HR Endeavor (gasser) that has the heavy mud flaps behind each rear duel and also behind the fronts. I commute 90 miles, 4 days a week for work so it will most likely have a few chips and dings by the time we checkout for a few months at a time in the next year or so. As far as choosing the CR-V, I am 55 and past my Jeep days. I drove a few the last couple of months and decided I wanted something just a little more comfortable that would easily seat 4. Thanks again and look forward to more replies. Michael

Do Toad's Really Get Beat Up Back There? Looking at new CR-V

Saw this discussed in recent "How old is your toad" thread but didn't want to hijack it so.... I am in the market for a new vehicle. Looking at the 2013 Honda CR-V as an everyday driver. Most likely will see very limited towing if at all in the next two years but will be used for several months per year after that. Figure I will get it broken in good before dragging it along. Do Toad's really get very much damage back there? Looking for real experience answers from those who tow often and what steps you've taken if any to prevent damage. I typically purchase a new vehicle only about every 10 years or so and they always look good after I am finished with them. Thanks for the help as always. Michael

RE: Have you had Yonanas ?

Yes I have one and use it a couple of times a month. We use it with bananas and other frozen fruit. Couple of tips....peel the bananas and cut them in half before you freeze them and use them within a month or so. Let them thaw for 5-10 before running them through. We like run a half piece through first, then a few mixed berries, then the other half. Not that hard to clean up and store. Certainly not as good as ice cream but a decent snack without all the fat. Hopes this helps. Michael

RE: I need seat belt reciever sheaths?

X3 on Wescoperformance. I have purchased twice for 2 different motorhomes. They will have what you need and the prices are reasonable.

RE: PayPal scam

My account was accessed a couple of months ago and the email notification saved me. I had my email up at work and on also on my phone. As soon as they made a change in the account I received the ding on phone email and work email. I immediately logged into Paypal and they had already deleted my credit card on file, changed the bank account number to their own and requested transfer of $300 out of $366 to the new account they had entered. I saw all of this prior to them changing the email address. If I had not been notified or they had changed the email first I would have never known until the next log in. I got Paypal on the phone within a couple of minutes and they were able to stop the transfer and reset my account. I have used Paypal thousands of times for my Ebay business without any issues. The account was accessed using my password so make sure you use very strong passwords that cannot be guessed or figured out with programs. And make sure as said in other posts....set your notifications up in Paypal so you know immediately if anything in the account changes. Michael

RE: Where's my light switch ?

Make sure you don't have a switch mounted on the side of the light that got turned off. My 2000 HR Endeavor florescents have the switch.

RE: Brushes in ONAN Marquis motorhome gen

They are not that hard to do an Onan 5000 Marquis. Controlling the little springs was a bit tricky but I was able to get them in. If you will post your size and model number you will get more responses and a link to the manuals. Michael

RE: What is PDI???

I am on my third motorhome, none which were purchased new or from a dealer so I never had the chance to do a PDI. I agree with most others that's its really a revenue maker for dealers and does not provide much more info than the owners manuals in most cases. I would certainly walk away from a dealer wanting to charge those prices. Read the books, do a little driveway camping using your systems and ask the forum questions. Most any if not all questions you might have can be answered within minutes on this forum for free. Hope this helps and welcome to the forum.
