RE: Travel to Myrtle Beach

We did the Toronto to Myrtle Beach twice in the last 3 years. We both times stopped at Broken Wheel CG in Weston, WV. Google it to get more details. Don't let the 1st impression get to you, it has very decent sites. Cheap too.

RE: Printing from Samsung 10.1 Tablet

Make sure your printer is turned on and that the Tab is connected to the local WiFi. Open your picture Gallery and choose a picture to print. Touch the Share Icon and choose Brother iPrint&Scan Touch the Knob control (settings) and select printer (the system will scan for a Brother printer) Choose your printer and hit the Back button. Select PRINT You should be good to go. Thank you BrutusTheDog - cool handle by the way. I have a Brother printer too - I can now print, they have a version for Android and the iPad/iPhone too. Fabulous.

RE: Webshot photos ? gone or changed site ?

Interesting, as I never did get an invite or notice to join the new Smile... I just checked my email and got the "views of my photos" report Webshots provided in September and an announcement that Smile was launched a few days ago, and now my photos are held hostage. Ah well, there are other options, I have a Picasa (free) and a Flickr account (maybe $25 every other year I think). I did keep my originals. I just need to figure out how to delete from Smile. Not a very user friendly site. Their next name could be Frown.

Webshot photos ? gone or changed site ?

Many posters, including myself, have been using Webshots. Seems like they have morphed into Smile and it's no longer free. Has anyone else noticed that ? My photos are not viewable, seems they are stuck there unless I pay.

RE: question on winterizing

It is a Jayco 19H. I am at a loss on steps involved to winterize. Well, then take it to your dealer and have them do it. Many RVrs do the same. The little heater is not a good call. You need to winterized, or drive it down South and leave it there.

RE: adding AC & DC volt meters and switch for propan alarm

Here is what I installed on mine, it measures AC and DC, power consumption and a bunch of other stuff, also has alarms. Made by VENA, they went out of business or stopped selling it and good a sweet deal. The Trimetric 2025 is the gold standard it seems, but did not want to spend that much... Fits perfectly right above the fridge. http://farm5.staticflickr.com/4140/4768406814_09a0d45cb6_z.jpg

RE: Starting to pack

Good for you. Last year we did a week at Bonnechere PP, just a few k's South of Algonquin - fabulous. Forecast is good - hope you'll do some paddling. Be safe.

RE: Another bike rack ?

If you are handy with metal work, or have a lil'bro like me, here is the one I/we made. An off-the-shelf bike rack for a 2-inch receiver hitch slides into a home made bracket and rest on another home made front bracket. Notice the brackets are bolted on to the A frame. Fabulous. Total cost, less than $150. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7244/7349357700_c53abdb42e_z.jpg

RE: Folding stool recall

Here is a URL to the site so you can see a pic of said stool. Dangerous stool I have one, identical in design and I paid for it - did not get it for for free. Wonder if it just as bad ..:h

RE: Mobile App.

I thought about joining irv2 so I can use tapatalk. You would not need Tapatalk for iRV2 as they have their own mobile apps, both for iOS and Android. Works very well. The concept of Tapatalk is simple: if a discussion forum uses one of the several popular off-the-shelf forum software, it will make that forum available in a mobile format with it. Unfortunately, RV.net was written from scratch and does not use any known forum software, and it seems that Mr Lemonis does not see the value of the growing mobile app markets. His loss.

RE: Anyone upgrade a Galaxy S2 to Ice Cream Sandwich

Installed CM9, an open source version of ICS. Got it from : http://www.cyanogenmod.com/ Lots of new features and 1-2 extra hours of battery life each day. That alone was worth it for me.

RE: Audiobook Player

Thank you for the suggestions, but I already have a perfectly good netbook. I was looking for software. Besides Kindle is a visual reader not audio, I think driving 54 feet of truck and fiver down the highway while reading a Kindle, would be frowned on. Doh! ChunMe: look it up, a Kindle is not JUST a reader, it's also an MP3 player and an Audidle book player, it has a audio out jack and I do connect it to my car radio while driving to listen to audiobooks. A lot easier to use than any netbook, and the battery lasts days without needing a charge... At $79 it's a steal.

RE: Hybrids vs all Others

That being said, here in Ontario you see a huge number of HTT's on the campgrounds. Thus I find it strange that camgrounds are full of HTT, yet dealer lots are empty of them. Are they selling all that they can get their hands on perhaps. Find that hard to believe, but it may be teh case. My opinion is that our climate is ideally suited for HTT's warm during the day when you are out and about, and cool in the evening. You really don't even need the AC for most trips. Thus we do not need to worry about sweltering heat 24/7. An HTT in my opinion is a surefire compromise between real camping (tent), and RVing (TT, motorhome, etc). You still feel like camping as you are in the open under canvas, but have the majority of creature comforts of the larger TT in a more compact package. I could not have said it better. For those looking for 'camping', the hybrid offers it all. In a easily towable size, with an open airy feeling inside. I call it : sleeping on a floating bed in the forest. Provincial Parks are filled with hybrids and pop-ups, very few conventional TTs or MHs. I noticed that TT owners seem to prefer private CG, for the amenities and cottage-like seasonal perceived benefits, the social things I guess.

RE: battery problem

Very little current flows from the 7-pin connector on your tow vehicle. It would take many, many hours to recharge... You need a genny. Good luck.
