RE: Our Mount Rushmore trip review

My camera is a Pentax Optio W60. Pentax Optio W60 It is waterproof and dustproof. I got it in 2008 for a round the world cruise I took and needed to have an all purpose camera that would work underwater while snorkeling as well as in the dust storms at the pyramids. A bonus was I never worried about using it in the rain. It is really easy to operate as the menu is fairly intuitive. It is also pocket sized and light so therefore can be taken anywhere. Most of the times I've very pleased with the pictures it takes. However, on this trip we had some rainy overcast weather and I think my husband's camera a Fuji FinePix S4500 that we recently got from Costco took better pictures at the Badlands in the rainy/low light conditions. He's still trying to figure out the setting so my guess is that the menu system isn't as intuitive. I made sure I could figure out the camera without the manual by playing with the menu before I bought it. The one I had before this was a royal pain to adjust anything on.

RE: Our Mount Rushmore trip review

Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion but when quoting what I said you cut off the rest of it it which was "All I can say is you have to visit and watch the video for yourself. This is an amazing site. In addition the sculptor who started it was a phenomenal talent. There are other examples of his work at the site and they rival anything you see in Italy or Greece. Why he is not more famous is a mystery to me. For me this site outshone everything else we saw on the trip." We all have different touring styles. I'm the type who can go to museum after museum (reading all the little tags and descriptions) and listen to guides all day long. But put me in Yellowstone and I only want to see so many hot water pools. I'm also an engineer who loves to look at the art in Italy and Greece. As an engineer I looked at all their progress photos, watched the video, looked at the work of the artist and walked away very impressed. Everyone will have a different experience and your certainly entitled to yours. I just didn't want to be partially quoted.

RE: Our Mount Rushmore trip review

Thanks for the positive comments. I enjoy keeping track of our adventures so I can go back and relive them, especially in the winter.
