RE: Disappointment - Michigan State Parks - Mclain

Geez where do I start... Don't come back then?
I've stayed at a KOA CG for a weekend that couldn't supply us power because everyone's ac kept blowing it...
I've stayed on an Ohio SP site that was covered with water and mud and so my kids had to play elsewhere and we had to have our campfire next door...
I've stayed at a private CG that had double booked and I had to switch to a site in the back...
I've stayed at a Canadian PP that charged us for a second vehicle each and every night even though we weren't using it...
I could go on and on and so could 99.9% of the campers/rvers out there.
We stayed at 4 or 5 different Michigan SPs this summer. We have reasons to go back or not for each of them, however we made the best of things and my family has awesome memories to show for it.

RE: Best overall travel trailer

I've been looking into an Evergreen TT. They are new so if they are going to stand-up over time is anyone's guess. They seem to be different in a good way... found this youtube video which is a decent resource.

RE: Popup Gizmos - First use experience

Simply crack a window about the size of your fists and you'll be fine... we have yet to experience a single drop. We've camped in all types of weather from March to November. Maybe we're just lucky... anyone tried this with different results?
Now, moisture under the mattress in the morning is just plain frustrating):
oops on edit: glad to hear the gizmos worked out! I've always wanted to get a set to keep the bunk ends clean - they'd be worth every penny if I didn't have to try n scrub stains out after trips!

push?!
I have a rod that I was given to manually crank mine in. I would think you'd cause more problems by forcing it.

RE: Fairly new to RVing and Hybrids; but now we're torn...

That's one reason, but not the only one, that I would not have a HTT.
What's "one reason"? Because you might get a defective/lemon from a manufacturer? I'm willing to bet my life savings I could hit every forum in here and find someone who bought one.
While you're full of such helpful information, stop by all the forums and let them know why you wouldn't purchase that type of RV... I'm sure everyone is holding their breath just waiting for you to drop your wisdom on them!
-----anyhow-----
What's done is done and I highly doubt FR will let it leave the factory without being fixed up perfect. If all else fails, have FR trade you straight up for a 2010. Like Bikendan said above, every "return to the factory" story I've read on here has been a positive one. We're waiting until Winter shows up and then we'll have the kit put on ours.

Check over in the TT section -- I think I've read a few people over there doing the same or similar.

RE: Help with Leaks!

a dealer can do a leak check by pressurizing the camper from the inside, my dealer charges $99.
I've called all over SE Michigan and can't find a dealer who does this):

RE: My 2 year old fell out of the bunk end

That is one reason my wife never would have a rv with "canvas" on it. Not sure how you can fix it, but wish you well and hope your child is well.
Some bad information from people that are ill informed, and lack understanding of Hybrids. I don't know what the Jayco design is like, but on my Surveyor which is a Forest Product, the bunk-end is velcro'd but overlapped by a skirt that also has 3 bungee cords on both sides to overlap and secure. At 210 pounds I could run from one end of the trailer to the other and throw myself against the screen window and I would bet the screen would rip before the canvas would come off.
I doubt that Jayco by design is that much inferior. One thing at least on the Surveyor, we never take off the Velcro as there is no need to when closing. Also prevents any major concern when closing during rain.
If a 2 year old can push their way through the canvas, it doesn't sound like it is set up right to me.
I agree - my 2yo couldn't get out if he tried (he has). Maybe you're pole on the inside isn't long enough? We can adjust ours which tightens the bunkend "canvas."

Evergreen 31BHS

Wow, I love it (found some pix)! Reading one of the recent TT threads got me interested and I found a couple youtube promos that have me searching for more.
Does anyone here have one?
The price seems steep - I've only found MSRP ($36k) but it still seems high... or is this normal for this size/type of TT?
Is 32'4" overall length just an accident waiting to happen for my Expedition?
A few numbers:
Dry Weight 5153
Dry Hitch 631
GVWR 7613
CCC 2086

RE: HTT Bunk Skirt

I think you can purchase them -- otherwise there are a bunch of people with the same idea of making them as you... I've seen many PUPs with them. The one thing I noticed was when one bunk is really high up and the other is low -- the skirt is way up on one side and bunched on the ground on the other.

RE: Possible Galley Mod in Roo 21ss

Sounds like a lot of work but I bet it would be nice. Have you seen the mod where you take the stove top off and replace with a butcher/cutting board? Maybe make one for each side of the sink too? Those combined with the flip up you're talking about would add quite a bit and be much less $/hassle.

Lexington, KY

Looking at a 2nd weekend of November trip to the Lexington area and need CG recommendations. Sister lives near Atlanta and we're near Detroit and this seems to be halfway for both of us. We need electric hookup and would prefer a wooded setting. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated(:
