New hitch from Mobile Outfitters

Anyone seen this hitch or are using one? Just curious how it handles chucking and up and down movement. Air cell technology-add or remove for pin weight. mobile outfitters have some interesting mods.check it out

RE: Trailer Brake Problems and Braking Performance

When I did my rewire I tied into the main feed from the hitch (12GA) and used home run wiring with 14GA to the wheels and then tied the 14 GA into the magnet wires. Seperate clean grounds installed at each brake (other side of magnet wire)-used 14GA. My amps nearly doubled from 2.6 to 3 before rewire to 4.5 to 5.5 after rewire(all readings at idle) I also tucked all wires up under the belly panel where it is dry-wires I removed from inside the axles were wet. I have not had a chance to take it out on the road yet. I would get rid of the light weight wire you have. I did not want to nick the wires or remove hubs(since i used heat shrink connectors) to check voltage-I am sure it is fine with the jump in amps-good luck!

RE: Trailer Brake Problems and Braking Performance

I noticed one of my brakes not working once in a while then I would move the wires and it worked-poor connections. I totally rewired my brakes with heavier wire using a star pattern and then grounded each brake individually-most rigs are wired with a common ground, if you lose the common ground you will have no brakes at all. I was able to eliminate many connectors that were used at the factory and they all needed to be replaced. I used heat shrink connectors. Now their is only 2 connectors per lead that feeds one side of magnet. Brakes work much better. I use an amp meter to check the amps at the magnets. On a new trailer you can take it back, but I would have to fix it myself to be satisfied it was done right-good luck.

RE: Rebuilding 2006 Montana Landing Gear

My landing gear had no way to lubricate the jack screw so I drilled a hole in the outside sleeve to oil the jack screw and bolt it runs through. I think the no lube on these screws causes a lot of break downs people have-you might also want to paint a red line on the leg near the top so you do not extend it all the way and blow a fuse or cause a gear problem. Good post form someone that needs to rebuild.

RE: Trailer Brakes

I don't believe there is an adjusting hole at the bottom. You may want to take them apart and see.Dexter makes self ajusting-good luck.

RE: x-chock Tire Locking Chock

I use X-chocks and am very happy with them. If they are installed properly, meaning TIGHT against both tires, the wheels will not roll forward or reward without great force being applied. Simple design that works effectively to help eliminate fore and aft movement. X-chocks used along with regular wheel chocks in front of and behind both sets of wheels makes for a very stabil RV.

RE: We Took Your Advice Ordered a Dually

You will like the dually. I waited to buy my 2011 because of the heavier frame and the urea tank-MPG is much better than prior years because of less regens.

RE: Bed tonneau covers

I had to go from a Access roll up cover to a tri-fold. The Access cover had a rail system that went down each side of the bed rails that reduced my clearance between the 5 er., truck by 1.5". Went to a Tonno Pro tri-fold, no rails, 15 minute install.
Tonno Pro
