RE: Campers who bully and badger

Glad the ranger took action to resolve the issue. There are always a few people who seem to think they are entitled.

RE: Stay away from Western Washington if you're headed to BC

Apparently the cause was an oversized load hitting part of the bridge structure. While there are alternate routes, it's still going to be a mess for quite some time. Thankfully, no fatalities.

RE: Moldy interior of TT - disgusting!

Since mine is hooked up to AC, I also run a dehumidifier during the winter. Mine is a Frigidaire 50 pt. and it does a great job. It's amazing to see how much water I have to empty every week or so. You can also run a drain tube outside if you can't empty the receptacle. It automatically shuts off when full.

RE: ethanol treatment & generators

While it may not cause problems for automotive engines, it is problematic for generators and other small gas engines.

RE: Do I have enough saved to go full time ?

No problem! The fact that you are debt free will serve you very well. You may consider buying a used fiver, too. A lot of depreciation the first year and not much advantage.

RE: ethanol treatment & generators

Thanks, all. There may be some ethanol-free gas around here and I'll look for it. But I like this practical idea, too:
Personally, I'll use normal regular with ethanol over the normal operating periods during the spring/summer/fall, but for storage, will run the tank down to a quarter tank, then fill with ethanol-free fuel and add a stabilizer for winter storage. I run both the MH and generator at least once a month over the winter to keep things lubricated and to purge the existing fuel in the carb/injectors.

ethanol treatment & generators

My mechanic suggests I use an ethanol treatment in my fuel tank to counteract the effects of ethanol on my generator and I have found this to work very well. It had been running a little rough even though I just had the carb cleaned. However, it gets expensive with a 55 gallon fuel tank. Is there any other solution to this problem? (I am not a mechanic).

RE: Ice cream stays soft. Wonder why?

Most ice cream, especially sugar-free ice cream, is full of additives like CMC (carboxymethylcellulose) and even air bubbles to increase the volume and improve consistency. They also make freezing more difficult. Of course, 'real' ice cream is high in fat, which is also harder to freeze.

RE: What is the right way?

Since I don't usually use hookup sites, I choose my spot based on levelness. There is usually some variation. As for the toad, you'll want it in front of your MH so you can use it.

how hard are they to disassemble? I don't know as I've never done it. But it's not something to worry about. Dual pane windows are worth getting, IMHO.

RE: NPS Sequestration. A reversal!

The major govt. departments were advised by the administration to make sequestration sound so draconian that everyone would blame one political party. DW and I worked for Uncle for years and in several different agencies/depts., and believe us, every govt. entity can suck up 5% in future budget cuts without affecting their core services, for example, the FAA and air traffic controllers. Every govt. entity is bloated.
Bingo!
Further editorial comment withheld at great personal effort and restraint. Amen!

RE: dual pane windows & weight

Salesman number one is trying to sell a product with dual-pane windows; salesman number two is trying to sell a product without. My Class C has dual-pane windows. I know they at least keep noise out and probably help with insulation, too. The only problem I know of with dual-panes is that they can fog up between the panes and require disassembly to repair.
