RE: Can I Pick Your Brains About Smaller Class C's?

We just purchased a Chateau 22E on a Ford chassis. Only 24' bumper to bumper. It's very easy to drive and maneuver yet offers ample living room. We've logged 800 miles in 3 weeks and are happy so far.
We looked at a Coachman Freelander 19CB but that unit was a little too small.

RE: how to check/set new class c tire pressures

Is there only one valve stem for each of the dual tire assemblies or are there 4 valve stems on the rear.
Sorry, this was already answered above. There's an inner and an outer valve on each of the dual rear wheels.
Once again, thank you all for your feedback.

how to check/set new class c tire pressures

I'm comfortable with all systems on my new class c with the exception of checking & setting the tire pressures. The tires & wheels are huge & I've never owned a DRW vehicle. My question deals with exactly what gauge & compressor is recommended to perform this critical routine. Are there any videos that can assist me with this task.
Thanks!

RE: TV Antenna "upgrade"

The factories need to stop mounting old style antennas and begin offering the latest technology.

I dropped cable and receive all the programming I need using this product. I wish my rig had it instead of the crank up monstrosity on my roof.

RE: Hard drive disposal

Disassemble the drive and remove the silver discs (platters). Break the discs into small pieces using a hammer.

LP Gas Main Shut Off

Is the main shut off valve of the LP Gas System supposed to be closed when not in use. I know I had to close the LP tank valves on my travel trailers but I can't find any instructions to do so on my class C.
Thanks.

RE: Auto Transfer Switch

The unit has an Onan RV QG 4000 generator.
I'm not sure why I'd want to run the generator while plugged into shore power. Oh well, it only cost $98.

Sonoyta Crossing Owner/Pet Database

We traveled to Puerto Penasco 11/2/12 and crossed the border at 9am. We received a green light but were signaled to pull over. Customs is gathering information for a planned owner/pet database. Apparently, once your information is entered a unique ID will be assigned which can be used to facilitate future entries. Customs requested copies of the current rabies certificates for all our dogs plus my drivers license and vehicle registrations. Digital photos of the dogs were also obtained. The process lasted about 20 minutes but we asked for details and the Customs agents were happy to explain the program. The agents also advised they'll be impounding any beef/pork dog food products which we didn't have.

Puerto Penasco ** The Reef RV Park **

We're currently at The Reef RV Park and we've been assured by the office manager that the marine expansion plans will not interfere with their operations and we can plan on many more visits in the future. Great news!
The park is packed with RVs of all types. We haven't seen this many visitors before. Most of the units are large and this park accommodates them well.
The weather is fine and the beach is fantastic!

RE: Who has been to Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point) Mexico

We're familiar with both the Playa Bonita & the Playa De Oro but have only stayed at The Reef RV Park. We've always enjoyed our visits at The Reef. They've experienced a few water outages recently but otherwise their services are generally good. We've learned to fill our fresh water tank when we arrive to avoid any inconvenience. The WIFI signal strength has always been excellent. The spaces provide plenty of room and their beachfront sites are truly on the beach. We'll be there in a few days for our forth visit this year.

Playa Bonita RV Park ** Puerto Penasco **

We'll be visiting Rocky Point next week and thought we might try a new location. Although familiar with the Playa Bonita, we've never stayed at the RV park.
Do they offer cable TV along with their full hook-ups? Is the WIFI service good?
If any member is there now, are any beachfront spaces available (preferably the west end sites 44-52)?
Thank you!

RE: Newb looking to buy 28-32ft tt

...How much more wiggle room is there to negotiate...
If you live anywhere close to Middlebury, IN, I suggest you contact Indiana RV Connection.
http://www.yourrvconnection.com/
Submit a request online for a Jayco factory order. They'll respond to your request promptly and you won't be disappointed with the price they quote.
I traveled 4000 miles round trip to do business with them and have never regretted my decision.
Good luck!

RE: Traveling in RV from Lukeville to Rocky Point

We've been down and back several times this year without any issues. The biggest problem was crossing the wash when the Sonoyta bridge was out after the heavy rains last month. The first phase of the new bridge is now open and traffic is flowing normally.
There are military checkpoints along the route where you will be stopped and inspected, generally leaving Sonoyta and entering Rocky Point, but no unusual activity from local law enforcement. If you observe the posted speed limits, drive safely and display common courtesy, you should have no difficulty traveling along highway 8.

RE: Bring Dog into Rocky point

We've traveled several times to Rocky Point with our German Shepherd and haven't had any issues. His vaccinations are current and we carry a recent health certificate along with license, rabies and shot records. We rarely let him run off leash but have done so when no other dogs are present. He's in his crate when lying around the camp site. We always pick up his droppings.
He enjoys the beach and loves to swim.

RE: Jayco /White Hawk

I had never towed a travel trailer before purchasing a 2011 Jayco Jay Flight Swift SLX 145RB. I owned it less than a year and was so impressed with that unit I purchased a 2012 Jayco White Hawk 27DSRL. I've towed the White Hawk almost 4000 miles and haven't had any issues yet. I don't believe it's necessary to follow any predetermined progression in order to enjoy and safely operate an RV. It is necessary to perform sufficient research in order to make wise decisions. It appears the OP is starting that process.
I've been satisfied with the Jayco products I've owned. The White Hawk has performed as advertised and I've enjoyed it.
Good luck!

Update: The first phase of the new bridge has opened for two way traffic and the detour signs have been removed. The transit through Sonoyta has returned to normal.

RE: Puerto Penasco/Rocky Point Mx.

Well Russ, what are we to do? You were absolutely correct about when the Sonoyta bridge would be opened. Now the Reef may be displaced. Where are we to go and when will we need to change our accommoations?
Thanks for all your insights into what's happening in RP!
