flexible brake hoses

We have a 2003 diesel on the R4 Monaco chassis with hydraulic brakes.. It has around 58,000 + miles on it.. How long do the flexible brake hoses last that's between the steel lines and the calipers?? Thanks.. Mike Mathews

RE: Engine Batteries - loss of charge

First is your coach suppose to charge both banks when you're on shore power?? What kind/how big is your inverter?? Most coaches do not charge both banks.. You'll need to install a charger between the banks that will take the charge to the engine batteries when you're on shore power.. It sounds like the solar panels aren't keeping up with the amount of discharge you have.. Mike Mathews..

RE: Michelin Advantage Program

We just put Michelins on the front and they were made in Spain.. It seems that all companies are going world wide.. There's a new market over there for them to tap into.. Mike Mathews..

RE: Want to add air horns

Try Hadley-products.com that's where I got our horns.. We got the Bully Horns and put under the front and pointed them straight ahead just under the cap so there even with the front edge.. You may not want to put them pointing down, they won't project sound away from the coach?? Mike Mathews..

RE: LED TV Mount

We had an Amish cabinet shop make our tv cabinet and they bolted it(TV) directly onto the door with no problems so far.. (2 years ago) They used three matching (like the rest of the coach) hinges so we have access to storage behind the 32" TV.. Mike Mathews..

RE: MCD day/night shades

Tom, don't know where in Canada you live, but if you're close to Northern Indiana there are a lot of service centers there that would do you a good job.. Elkhart service & collision is one, All-4-One is another, and Elkhart sales & service.. There are more but these are the ones that I have used and would go back.. Mike Mathews.. PS: If you're kinda handy with tools? You can do them yourself.. I did, it took me about an hour per shade after the first one..

RE: air valve extenders for mh rear wheels

I change ours when we get new tires, about every 6 years or so, they are Wheel Master from CW.. That's what came on the coach when it was new, and we've not had a problem with them.. I do put them on myself.. Mike Mathews..

RE: water heater plug

I just open the faucet and drain or flush, which ever I need to do.. The faucet I have has hose threads on it, so I put the short gray hose on it so it doesn't run down the side of the coach.. Mike Mathews..

RE: water heater plug

You may have to drill it out?? If and when you get it out I would suggest getting a small faucet(got the last one at Ace hardware) to replace and then you just open the faucet to drain.. I've done that to all the RV's we've owned.. Mike Mathews..

RE: Monaco (Fleetwood Motor Homes)

The HRRVC director/president and also director of the 419 Pusher chapter met with Snell at Decator In. and it sounds like the Roadmaster chassis as we know it is gone.. Sounds like it's going to be a mix of parts from Freightliner and Roadmaster.. Which to me means a Freightliner chassis.. They are also are looking at bringing back the Navigator.. Mike Mathews..

RE: slide

Sounds like the stops might need adjusting?? These stops are usually bolts w/a jam nut that can be moved/adjusted.. They are usually around the slide motor or at each end of the slide on the outside underneath.. There are stops for both ways, when the slide goes in and when it goes out.. Don't get them mixed up and adjust the wrong ones.. Mike Mathews..

RE: Question about using a tow dolly

What does the directions say?? If I remember right, we did put our Lumina in neutral and then tied it down.. We couldn't put the parking brake on because it was on the back wheels.. I did have a large rope with safety hooks that I hooked on the dolly and on the frame of the car just in case.. Mike Mathews.. PS: I stand corrected, I found our old instructions.. It says to pull upon the doll until you're in between the chocks(against the stops)(there's a picture), apply the parking brake leave it in neutral, tie it down securely, then put the shifter into park and release the parking brake.. Stop and check the tie down straps at 100 miles..

RE: Flooring, laminate or wood?

We had Armstrong laminate put in all threw the living, kitchen, and bathroom and DW loves it.. We chose 12" square tile look.. It feels like tile too.. The pieces are three foot long and one foot wide.. Mike Mathews..
