RE: Legend TV in new Cougar

I don't own one but I did a Google search, Cnet reviewed the 30 & 32" TV's and they seemed to get pretty decent reviews for their price level and were complimented at having "good color reproduction and ease of use" for the price.

RE: I don't know WHAT to think -- may lose my trailer!!!

Mike is in Florida until Monday so that's the earliest I can find out anything. Yes I wish I could look into my crystal ball & see how this plays out too!!Mike is not your friend!! Don't know why you are talking to him. You should be talking to a lawyer, not the guy who messed up your credit rating. I keep wondering why this person hasn't contact someone other then the person who own the dealership who screwed up this whole thing. Simple fact is that the OP would have been approved and not had any issues had RVWHolesalers.com not messed up the loan process. Futher - I am appalled at some of the assumptions about this person I read earlier. How some of the fantasies and personal attacks came about are beyond my comprehension. I would at a min. seek help from the State's Consumer Advocate, typically within the State's Attorney Generals office. At least then you can get a decent legal opinion to decide what direction you need to head.

RE: wall seperation from aluminum wall studs

On mine, the wall is a hung wall construction (thank God). It uses staples under the seam tape to the alum. stud backer. I do not believe the Everest is a laminated block foam wall.

RE: State of the RV industry

Quality of assembly does not cost extra, as a Aerospace QA with my FAA Cert's I can tell you that defects, warranty costs and customer displeasure costs more then engineering in a quality process.

RE: wall seperation from aluminum wall studs

Pull back the seam tape carefully, you will see staple shots. They use pneumatic nail/staple guns to assemble the wall board.

RE: New 2010 Montana 5th wheel

It's all specualation until they release the spec's but I bet you they drop the single piece 5/8 engineered decking (real heavy) for a laminated or lite plywood floor. On a 35' camper that is hundreds of pounds in savings. Also, cable slides are very reliable and used on many Class A,B and C motorized RV's and they save a few hundred pounds per slide. Keystone has changed names but that's no different then any other brand. Jayco has used Eagle, Eagle Superlite, Jayfeather, Cove, Jayflight. Jayflight G2, etc. Heartland is changing their model names, such as the Eagle Ridge now the Elk Ridge and Northtrail is a Sundance, etc. Carriage is a excellent brand and has dropped/changed names, too. I doubt it's a THOR exclusive to switch names to keep brands fresh.

RE: GMAC Getting Bailout Again

does everyone know that GM and Chrysler do not own GMAC? "Until 2006, GMAC was a wholly owned subsidiary of GM. On Nov. 30, 2006, GMAC began a new era as an independent finance company when GM sold a 51 percent stake in the company to a group of investors led by Cerberus Capital Management, L.P." Where did "Chrysler" come from, here? Chrysler uses GMAC as it's finance/lease arm.

RE: Question on 2010 Jayco 324BHDS

There is no need for the grey tank to be that small. That camper is over 35' long, plenty of space to put a larger tank. No offense, but you won't need a 50 gal. fresh water tank on a camper that is over 35' - you simply won't get into a lot of the dry campsites the National Park Service has, LOL! I did a quick serach and this floorplan and it's variants are in every major brand. For example, the Sprinter has 64 gal. grey tanks for that similar floorplan. It also has the new outside kitchen setup many brands are putting on their campers: Sprinter 311BHS

RE: New 2010 Montana 5th wheel

ALBE - All gerat suggestions but the OP stated they like the Montana and want something to stay within the published towing limits. While all are fantastic choices even their 30' models are 10K + empty.

Randy - that's some great (and well written) advice.

RE: New 2010 Montana 5th wheel

They are probably switching out heavy solid surface counters for some of the lighter solid surface laminates, eliminating the one piece subfloor and using the new "Lite Plywood" other's are using and so on. Also, I'd be interested in someone seeing one in person, are the slides now cable actuated like the OR brand? This saves hundreds of pounds. Two thousand pounds is significant in a RV that size.

RE: Elkhart

I was in the area this past Spring. While Elkhart itself isn't a destination beyond it's RV builder's the area's surrounding it have some nice places to visit, shop and learn about the culture in the area. I enjoyed my visit to the Crossroads, Jayco and other RV builders factories. Visted some nice home cooking and quaint shopping villages.

RE: GMAC Getting Bailout Again

GMAC is supposed to be a financial instition, I would think that their primary source of income would be the interest on loans. They continue to loan at "0%", while burning billions in taxpayer $$$$. Unfortunatly, government ownership will probably not do anything to address basic business practices. GMAC needs to operate as a financial instition, not a part of GM/Chrysler sales organizations. True.

RE: GMAC Getting Bailout Again

Well unless you are well to do many of us have financed some portion of our tow vehicle purchase. Since GMAC is the lien holder on many vehiles (and homes) I thought it was relevant. No offense home eagle but I will let the Moderator's decide if it should be moved. The problem is more complex then a simple cushion but I'm not going to bore you with the details about defaults and what they do to a banks ability to support the loans it has issued. The main point is that you as a taxpayer have now become a banker holding lien's on something deemed to big to fail. Some people don't care (that's ok) and some people do care and want toknow so they can make an educated choice on their next vehicle purchase and finance.

RE: GMAC Getting Bailout Again

I understand your point wild bill. A little background though, GMAC has outsourced customer relations oversees while accepting millions in Gov't bailout. Ever try to tell someone in India that they lost your payment and you want to talk to a Manager? I did - they lost my payment and made me do all the leg work while threatening to report me to a credit agency becuase they lost MY payment. In the end I was able to determine GMAC had cashed my check but never credited my account. One month later, they credited my wife's account with my payment with a payment intended for the other account we have with them. I still haven't figured out how they did that! In the end I feel the opportunity cost of working with GMAC is too high - and their ethics & values do not mirror the ones I value. I typically lease so the 0% interest rate isn't a consideration for me.

RE: GM discontinues Duramax diesels?

HA! I was wondering why the trucks around here were only available in black and white! Perhaps everyone else has bought the remaining reds, blues, and tans. I did a quick serach in southern Maine using the Chevy website for extended cab Duramax equipped 2500/3500 trucks model year 2009 to 2010. There were only 5. A year ago there were always a dozen or more in stock within a hour ride. It doesn't help they closed all the Chevy dealerships around.

GMAC Getting Bailout Again

GMAC Recieves Additional Gov't Bailout Funding As a customer with (2) GMAC financed vehicles I am saddened that for the third time the Gov't has to use taxpayer money to bailout this company. This time the total Gov't ownership reaches 56% - the Gov't now has a full controlling stake and the ability to select two appointee's to run the day to day operations. I can't see myself using GMAC for my next loan servicing needs. Sad....
