RE: Coachmen

Hummm I have a 2011 Freedom Express 280rls - microwave died @ pdi was replaced by dealer - I just replaced a water valve for the toilet - other than that we have had thousands of miles of trouble-free camping with lotsa great memories!

RE: General RV

Scamp - I actually dealt with General RV in my buying process - however I did not close with them as I actually worked a better deal locally - I found them very good to deal with & have friends who have purchased from them with no issues. With any dealer one needs to go in prepared and ask the right questions.

RE: Bathroom shower enclosure sealant

Just don't seal between the tub and enclosure bottom nor between the wall and top of the enclosure. It needs to vent to wick condensation away. The wall only has 2 inches or less of insulation to protect from the outside cold. Hot shower + cold wall = condensation. The tub has a raised lip that fits under the enclosure to keep water from splashing up behind the enclosure and running down the wall. X2

RE: thetford toilet

Just replaced the water valve & vacuum breaker in my trailer - pulled the toilet out to make the repairs but think I could've done without pulling. Either way was about a half hour job & believe the part was $30 @ camping world. Tested last weekend - works great - good luck.

RE: Sky light shade suggestions

I took a large truck windsheild shade with the silver thick type from wallys and cut it to the shape and the wife sewed the edges afterwards to make sure they stayed together and then I just wedge them in or tape them in when needed. Hope that helps or gives you an idea on how to block out the heat. X2 - we did the same!

RE: Jack Knife Couch

We usually open it into the sleeping position then the wife purchased a corner high rise pillow with arm rests (folks use them for sitting up reading in bed) and she uses it as a lounge. Must work as I have seen her eyes shut many times hi!
