Do I have to replace the whole porch light or is there a plan B? I guess I could just tape it but that's pretty lame. Any thoughts please?

air it out

Looking for feedback on a12 volt air compressor to ensure trailera tires can be serviced on the road if necessary. Looked at various websites from big box home improvement stores etc prices and features seem to be all over the place . Your thoughts on what to look for please

are they worth it??

My post before was about losing the light cover on the road and after following your suggestions coming up empty on a replacement. So looks like I have the replace the whole unit from a to z right? I had read that patio lights are considered not cool to leave on at night as it may bother the neighbor So my questions is are they more trouble than they are worth?.ps. we have a 2007 JaY feather lite 218

cash, debit or credit

We were going toward the La Push Indian Reservation and had to stop at a small general merchandise store with 2 gas pumps to fill up. Pulled out our visa credit card started pumping, got halfway and it stopped. Went inside, called credit union it seemes card was maxed out (we had been using it on the way and forgot the limit)so we whipped out the Amex fortunately clerk took it. So, how do y'all pay for things on the road. Cash, debit or credit? Post moved from TT Forum to General Forum Moderator - TT Forum

kinda wimpy ain it?

So i just received the Trailer Life 2013 guide to towing and has the Suburban/Yukon XL 4WD rated in 3 categories (a)5.3L V-8 5,000lbs with a 3.08:1.(b) 5.3L V-8 5,5000lbs with a 3.42:1 and (c) 5.3L V-8 8,000 lbs with 3.42:1 and a cooling or other accessory package required. The first 2 towing ratings seems low to me for a V-8 and any trailer with a slide, entertainment center and bunks will exceed the towing limits wonit it? Looks like my next tow vehicle purchase will have to be the Silverado 2500 HD cause for the price of a top end Suburban I get wimpy towing ability. Do I have that right?

the lost cover

Howdy. Somewhere between Utah and Washingtonn state we lost the patio light cover for our 2007 Jay Feather light 218. I e mailed Jayco they said to contact dealer. Dealer said they don't have it and to contact Camping World.. Camping World has genereic off the shelf covers I bought one but I doesn't fit so I am back to square one. Any thoughts? . I hope I dont have to replace the whole unit. Thx

RE: am I squeezed out?

ok and thx everybody for all the great info..we travel in the northwest and mountain states (idaho& Montana) for the most part so we have to go over the Cascade and Olympic mountains. The Suburban pulls the Jayco Feather lite pretty well, practically don't feel it.The sticker on the 218 trailer reads: GVWR 4500..minus UVW 3491..minus fresh water of 30 gal @ 8.33 lbs/gal: 250 (we never fill the fresh water more than enough to stop somewhere not close to rest rooms..minus propane weight of 5 gallons @ 4.24 lbs/gal: 20..CCC for this trailer: 739.. Wife and I travel very light..Alll in all, I think the Jayco 254 would be ok with this Suburban and yes I have looked at other manufactureres and am still open minded there but we do like the Jayco line..Thanks again to everybody!

am I squeezed out?

Our tow vehicle is a 2007 Suburban GVWR 7400. We tow a 2007 Jayco Feather Lite 218 22 feet but we want to upgrade to a longer trailer. We like Jayco products and want to have at least 28 feet with a slide, walk around queen bed and an entertainment center In looking at the Jayco 2013 product line, it looks like the only product which meets our criteria is the Jayco Ultra Lite 254 but, its GVWR is 6400 lbs which is way too much I think for our Suburban which we are keeping. If as Ihave read here 80% of the Tow vehicles GVWR is the max for towing that would put me in the 5920 lbs max for the trailer. So am I squeezed out of the Jayco product line?

a bright/not so bright idea?

So I must ask: Why don't travel trailer /5th wheel manufacturers just build in a generator onto the rig? Sure it would raise the price some and engineers would need to figure out where to put it but I am sure it could be done. I used to have a class c with a handy Onan in a comparment right above the rear bumper. very handy. Now with my 22 foot Jayco its only full hookup camping now cuz I dont have generators and in reading posts here it sure seems like a lot of fuss and worry to keep em safe. So why don't they just build 'em in?

huffin' and puffin'

So I am huffin' and puffin' to put my 4 point sway control on my 2007 Suburban then line up the TV bracket with the pin hole on the tow bar and I'm thinking:."Long in the tooth for this" but the 4 point came new with the trailer and it's all paid off but if I were to buy another tow bar system what would be easy for an old guy like me. Your thoughts please fellow Rvers? 2007 Jayco Feather lite owned by a 62 year old man. Thx
