RE: niknas inspired ladder mount bike rack mod

humm, I might have to clean up my install. Very Nice indeed.
"Any concern about that aluminum ladder fatiguing (and ultimately failing) from the load & constant flexing/vibration while driving ? ? ?"
I have have traveled thousands of mile including two trips down Baja One without any sign of "ladder fatigue". Of course every camper is built different.

RE: NL 9.6Q and solar panels

I have the same camper as you and I did install a single Kyocera 85 Watt Solar panel directly behind the "escape latch". I contacted Northern Lite before I did the install and they gave me some very simple directions for attaching the panel to the roof. My electrical needs are simple (lights, laptop). The single solar panel along with the truck charging while traveling keeps my batteries charged.

RE: Northern Lite 9.6 Lite (or classic lite) on a crewcab?

Check my signature below, a Northern Lite Queen 9.6 Classic on a 07 Chevy Crewcab Classic. Don't know how it compares to the 9.6 Classic.

RE: Anyone have a boat rack on theirr Northern Lite?

I had the factory racks installed on my 08 9.6 Queen classic at the dealer. I did watch the install and it is my impression that there are no specific location point for the connection. The lag screws are for placement and appear to give some attachment, however I believe the true strength comes from the bonding adhesive used. My racks are placed different from the photos shown in the factory pictures. I chose to locate them in different configuration to meet my needs.
If need be I can shoot and post some photos of the install. The photos posted at www.imagesbypyarnall.com are very good showing the details. The only change I would have made would be to shorten the uprights.
Take care,
Nik

RE: MORE OR LESS RV'ER IN 2009 TO MEXICO

I am in Los Barrilies Baja Sur, the local campgrounds are less than a 1/4 full. This time of the year they would be 3/4 plus full with large caravans pulling in weekly. It is the quietest I have seen Baja in 10 year of traveling here. Two large hotels have shut down for the season due to a lack of business. The small restaurants are closing early and when open nearly empty. The charter fishing boats have pulled most of their boats out of the water again due to a lack of business. The windsurfers and kiteboarder are staying away in droves. Good for us who are here, bad for the locals who depend on tourist for income.
