RE: Fuel mileage?

I agree, 10 mpg is bad but I think it's because it's been on the car lot and only had test drives and idled a lot which will lower mileage but not sure how long it takes to calculate again

Fuel mileage?

just purchased a new to me Chevrolet Duramax 6.6 with the Allison automatic, just driving it around town yesterday running some errands it shows average fuel mileage at 10.6, what do you think. I think it's still breaking in. It's a 2013 with 55900 on it I previously had a dodge cummins that got about 12 mpg up until about 75k then it began to go up to 19 around town and 12 to 13 pulling my 5er. Never had a Duramax before.

RE: Some thoughts

Yea I've thought about seeing if there is a block to remove between rear axle and spring and bed depth is the same as previous truck, yes I did air hitch to gain some space but mostly for cushion, yes I ask know I can get risers from trailer saver and I also have a little adjustment left on the hitch. The problem with my trailer is it has the MoRyde IS Suspension System, no axles to flip but I could take it back to MoRyde and have them put a bigger spacer in it to get it to hieght.

RE: Some thoughts

No that's with no trailer on it, stock hieght. My previous truck a Dodhe Ram 3500 RWD was at 55 inches, I think I can make some adjustments to either the hitch pin or the 5th wheel hitch itself.

Some thoughts

Just replaced my tow vehicle with a new to me 2013 Duramax RWD 3500, I had a 2006 Dodge Ram with the 5.9 Cummins, Well, the dodge bedrail sat at 55 inches tall the Duramax sits at 57 inches so what do you think? It's 2 inches higher but when I hooked up with the dodge and raised the legs on my 5er it sagged to the helper spring (barely) then I would have to run the air bags I had on it to level the trailer and truck for towing then I also have a trailersaver airride hitch that I air up to raise the trailer nose another inch or so. So my question is what do you think, do you think the 2 inches higher on my new to me truck will make much difference? Before I had about 5 inches between bedrail and trailer. Oh the reason I haven't hooked it up a tried it yet is I had back surgery and my hitch is in the other truck which I get the hitch tomorrow but just wondering, I think it will be fine when I put the weight of the trailer onto the truck.

RE: Hey 20 info

Thanks, I'll look at 26 again but it comes out closer to Portland which is a little above where we are head d and would have to go back south on I 5 but I'll consider it.

RE: Mor Ryde Pin Box Question

I've had 2 MoRyde pin boxes and loved them both. Might raise 1 inch but you might be able to lower your 5th wheel hitch in truck.

RE: RAM 3500 Diesel Owners - Still Like Your Truck?

Yep, love my 2006 5.9 cummins, passed many Duramax's in the mountains and my Dodge is completely stock. I also average 13 mpg towing our 34 ft 5er.

Yep, I had the same thing done a few years ago, nothing but praises for MorRyde and the IS suspension

RE: My first rear kitchen - drawer and cabinet latches?

I have a rear kitchen and solved all issues with a MorRyde IS suspension, rides smooth and rarely anything moves.

RE: Depressed snowbird housing market - Yuma

Yep, your right, they had 20 good years and yes they took a major loss, my wife & I are in real estate so I am no dummy as to a buyer or sellers market and grandpa was just glad to have the years in Yuma? BUT still at the end of the day the depressed market bites into the future Money needed for future care of grandma. But they loved the years they had in Yuma.

Depressed snowbird housing market - Yuma

Well, my in laws just sold their snowbird home in Yuma at a major loss, lots of properties for sale there, it's definitely a buyers market. My in laws hated to sell but at the ages of 83 & 79 with one of them in the early stages of Dementia it was time. They had 20 Great Years going to Yuma every winter and made many friends. It's sad to see that the snowbird population is migrating a different direction. Their home was in the Foothills area. They started with a 36ft 5th wheel and ended with a double wide park model. Helping them get their place ready and listed was a very hard thing to do. You could see that they were very saddened to end this part of their life and move on to a new part of life with uncertainty of what's to come. They have a great family of children & grandchildren who love them and will give them the support they need, most of all they have God on their side as well. Please pray for them and pray for Grandma & strength for Grampa
