RE: Were to go to lunch in Algodones, Mexico?

Anything you eat there you want to be sure you can see it being cooked, remember they do not have any health standards to meet over there so if you can't see the kitchen who knows how clean the kitchen is they cooked your meal in.

RE: frozen sewer hose and water line

I would pour a bucket of really hot water into sinks hopefully that will at least thaw them to drain tanks

In 3 Weeks head out for the; Northern California coast from Mendocino all the way to Cape Lookout State Park in Oregon near Tillamook via Hwy 1 and 101 then work my way back to OKC.

RE: Ever seen the door in the slide?

Just the amount of steps to get inside is a deterrent for the older RVer's and those with some disabilities. Far too steep and for someone like my mother-in-law who even had trouble with the steps inside leading to the bedroom which was only 2 steps I know she wouldn't like this idea.

RE: Exhaust brake service

My truck is a stick, EB stays on till I stop. When the engine is cold it comes on automatically till it warms up to at least 140 degrees then will shut off when idling but until then it stays on to help warm up engines faster. Made buy Jacobs/Cummins. Been a great brake.

RE: Northern CA and Southern Oregon Camping in April

Well I am Leaving for Calif. late Feb. and should hit the northern Calif coast by first or 2nd week of March with reservations at Cape Lookout SP just south of Astoria but other than some rain like Oregon gets it should be good.

RE: Exhaust brake service

Mine is on 100% of the time, the switch stays in the on position all the time, even when I am home driving locally around town. saves on brakes ect. Dealer told me to run it all the time. Hasn't hurt my truck at all.

RE: mor ryde

I had the ole standard axle system with a rear kitchen 5th wheel and boy did we have trouble keeping things where they belong after a few hundred miles, so I made the drive OKC to MorRydes factory in Goshen and had the ole suspension system rip out and install the Independent system and WOW what a difference!!! No more mess in the 5er. Left there plant and traveled in Canada and down to the outer Banks then back to OKC and no problem. That was 4 years ago and we have traveled many miles since in all kinds of conditions and nothing but superb performance from the system. Well worth the money. I also added the MorRyde hitch pin too, again another MorRyde product worth the money.

RE: Best Route to Pacific Coast from I - 5

Thanks, everyone, from the sounds of it I think I will do 299 that way I can see the northern most part of Calif coast which I haven't been that far north on the Calif. coast then I will be able to see all of the Oregon Coast.

RE: Best Route to Pacific Coast from I - 5

I will be traveling from the south, Sacramento, Calif. going North. I am leaning towards Hwy 299 but heard its curvy. I am still in Oklahoma but will be headed out that way in late February and one of my stops will be in Sacramento visiting Family so I will be traveling North to Oregon in early March.

Best Route to Pacific Coast from I - 5

Hey, I am looking for the best route to pull a 34ft 5er from Interstate 5 either from the Redding area or from the southern Oregon border. I will be traveling from Sacramento to Lincoln City Oregon but do not want to travel the northern Calif. coast since I have done that before. More interested in starting my drive up the coast from the Oregon border. I know there are only 2 or 3 routes but which is best.

RE: Porpoising (Bucking) Fifth Wheel

I solved all that with a MorRyde Hitch pin. I use cruise control all the time.

Tires

Anyone run Nitto Tire on their Tow Vehicle? I have a 06 Dodge Ram 3500 Dually. Pull a 34ft 5th wheel. I am looking at the LTX Michelin but stopped at Big O Tires and they were trying to sell me the Nitto tires but they also carry the Michelins LTX. Give me your opinions.

RE: Dogs in bathrooms

I own a certified Therapy Dog (Therapy Dogs International) don't confuse a Therapy Dog and a Service Dog, a Service dog has rights to go where a person can go but a Therapy dog can not go the same places without permission. A Therapy Dog is a dog that is very calm and friendly to all people and is very easy to be controlled. Loves to be petted.
