RE: Dealer damaged camper

I too would be interested in who the dealership is. I don't have a Cedar Creek, but my Wildcat is made by Forest River too, and good dealerships are hard to find.

RE: Maiden Voyage, need help, a few minor problems.

Your leak sounds just like the leak we had on our Wildcat. When driving in rain, the tires throw water up onto the seam where the slide goes into the body of the coach. We screwed a rubber garage door bottom to the lip where the slide rubber meets up with the coach. Fixed the problem. Let me know if you need more info, I can send you a link to the person that created the fix.

RE: "Wiring fault on trailer" message

I have the same problem with my 06 F350. but its the trailer wiring, not the truck. Reason being, I went under the camper and pulled on all the brake wires, just moving them within the axles and going inside the underbelly. Since tugging on the wires, no more "wiring fault on trailer". I'm sure it will re-appear sooner or later. Just try tugging on the wires going thru the axles before you go out next time.

RE: Need to Clean My Black Tank

A little off topic here but I read in a previous post that you should not leave your grey tanks open. Now, I completely understand not leaveing the black tank open but why not the grey? I live in my 5er full time and though I do leave the black tank closed until draining, I do leave both grey tanks open all the time. I am trying to figure out what that could hurt but I'm not coming up with anything. Can someone help? Thanks in advance! fishinrgv, I believe the purpose of leaving your gray tank valves closed is to rinse the dump hose out after dumping the black tank. I always leave all my valves closed until I dump my black, then follow with the 2 gray valves. I can wait 2 days before dumping, but then, I use a lot of water in the black tank to make sure I don't have the pyramid problem. Hope this helps.......

RE: Brake wires passing thru axle

Thanks everybody.... I like the idea of the plastic tubing and caulking the ends up. What gauge wire should I use?

Brake wires passing thru axle

I think I have a short in one of my brake wires that pass thru the axle. Has anyone replaced their wires and put them on the outside? What kind of wire housing did you use? and how did you attached it to the axle. Thanks....

RE: roof cleaner

My roof had black mold spots on it. Spic & Span only lightened them up to a gray color. I called Dicor and now they recommend TILEX to clean your roof. I used it and my roof is white again. Then I washed it 2 times with Spic and Span to make sure I got all the TILEX off, as the DW was washing the sides to keep any streaking from drying and sticking. Also bought a bottle of Dicor conditioner to put on after the TILEX, just in case. I guess it depends on where you live if you have mold or not.

RE: changing a flat tire

Here's what a bottle jack looks like: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=66569 But, I have this model and I've noticed that after releasing the pressure, the lift arm doesnt go all the way back into the housing. I have to force it back down, Anyone have any suggestions? Other than buy a good quality one!!!

RE: Southbound I95

We have stayed at Smithfield for the past few years, nice CG, free waffles & coffee for breakfast :). If you are going to stay at Smithfield for a few day, here is their coupons for a free night. http://www.koacampingnc.com/media/pdf/e-coupons.pdf There is also a new CG in Roanoke Rapids, NC. The RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads. Its new, so trees/bushes are really small. When we were there back in March, the place was pretty empty. Here's their link: http://www.rvresortatcc.com/

RE: Bethpage Camp Resort/Gray's Point Camp VA

We stayed at Bethpage in Oct. 0f 07. All the water front/view sites are taken by the permanent sites. We were all the way in the back, which was OK with us. Sites are grass, pretty level, but since it rained all week we were there, sites were very spongy. Would we stay there again, HMMMM, maybe not.

RE: Virginia Landing Campground

This is really good info. We will be prepared for the bugs. I hope.:-) Wonder how the locals cope? Any kyakers/canoers? There is a boat launch right there too, I don't remember seeing any canoes/kayaks for rent, unless they had then somewhere else. In Sept. when we were there, there were not many campers there, maybe 8 total. The CG is surrounded by water, hence the bugs. If you've never been to the area, heading north on Rt 13, right after the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, there is a restaurant/gas station called Sting Rays. VERY good food, and cheap too. Kind of dumpy looking, but very good food. DW loves their sweet potato & ham biscuits. Wachapreague is down there, where you turn right off of 182, if you turn left, you go to Wachapreague, nice little fishing hamlet, with a restaurant. Its good, I had the flounder, but Sting Rays flounder was better and 1/2 the price. Be sure to checkout all the little towns/hamlets on both sides of Rt13 too. Have a safe trip.

RE: CG choices in Gettysberg & Lancaster, PA

Drummer Boy is runs parallel with Rt15, so it could be noisy. We stayed at Artillery ridge last fall, nice CG, right across the street from the Battlefield. Sites are gravel, mostly level, but kind of small. We were on the end, in site 66, so our site looked huge. They are also Passport America, and Good Sam, so you should be able to get a good discount if you belong. We would stay there again.

RE: Coast to Coast membership Campground availability

If your park is a classic, you can't upgrade, if its a deluxe then you can. My home park is in Breckenridge Lake Resort Crossville, TN, a classic, and I cant upgrade. At least thats what I was told when I called and asked. We bought our membership from a reseller, for $255. If you are interested, send me a PM and I will give you the guys name. Or you can do a search on e-bay for: COAST TO COAST-RPI/NACO/LTR CAMPING MEMBERSHIP

RE: Virginia Landing Campground

We were there last September for 7 days. We have visited this part of the Eastern shore for many years, but this was the first time we stayed at Virginia Landing. In Sept, it was really buggy. We like to sit outside of camper and enjoy the serenity, but there were so many mosquitoes, that we ran from the car to the camper. I believe there are 12 full hookup sites, all just in an open field. All the wooded sites only have water & electric. WIFI is only inside the clubhouse, and worked very good club house was very nice. 2 bath houses, old with paint peeling. But, lots of little towns all off Rt. 13 that are very enjoyable. Oh, As you turn off of Rt. 13 in Painter, using RT 182. But be aware, at the end of 182, you turn right and stay straight. Its about 5 miles from the end of 182 to the entrance of the campground. You go past a golf course on the left, then the road looks like a back country road with trees on both sides and no place to turn around. KEEP GOING, I thought we were on a trip to no where and no where to turn around. But we finally got there. Oh, and we left after 4 days, couldn't take the mosquitoes....

RE: Moving 5th Wheel by Hand

I would think of you are trying to move this on a black top driveway, the little wheels of the rollers would sink into the blacktop with all that weight. And if its location is in a hot place, like Texas, they definitely will sink.

RE: Spic-N-Span roof mixture

Also be careful where you clean your roof. First time I did mine was on the blacktop driveway. Had white spots all over the black when done. And they dont wash off. Now I move the camper into the front yard, let the grass get all white instead.
