RE: Use of Cinder Blocks

At home I use the triangular shaped solid blocks that have a flat top, but only used at home, too dang heavy to tote around.

RE: Is the rv 12 volt cigarette adapter something special?

Yes, I found my one for tv was too small, and ripped it out of the wall when I tried to get the stuck plug out of it.
Still have to try and get it back into the wall like it should be.

seems to be her phone and video games, although she has enjoyed aquariums and zoos, but unlike when we grew up these electronic things have made it harder to get them to enjoy outdoors.

RE: Considering Used Travel Trailer - Advice??

I bought used all three times, first one in 2005 was an 18.5 foot 1989, then in 2009 bought a 22.5foot 1999, and now own a 2004 24.5 Rear kitchen, buying used can save a lot of money, all were bought off dealers.
First one was 6000.00CDN then the second we paid 10,000CDN, then we traded both units (yes we had two for a while) on one worth 17.000CDN, so it all worked out well for us.

Port Coquitlam to Drumheller and back questions

So after owning three fifth wheels since 2005, the wife now decides I am right and we should travel further afield.
So she now wants to have us and our 16 year old daughter on a trip to drumheller and back, thinking of stopping in Revelstoke, Banff and Drumheller, plan on taking I hope three weeks holidays if work will let me.
Anybody have suggestions on where to stay on the way through?
We currently have a 2004 Wilderness Lite by fleetwood, it is a 245RK model, we bought it from a dealer used in 2010, put new tires on it as the old ones although looking real good were apparently original tires, and so its first trip was 2011 and then in 2012,
Total mileage we have put on it is roughly 3000 Km in all, so now will be taking a longer trip and don't want to push too far, and want to figure out places to stop and stay for either one night or a couple if it is a nice spot.
Wife wants full hook ups and cable if she can.
Thanks
Bill

RE: What is the LP pressure?

Hey, try buying a camper that is not plumbed, then do all the plumbing your self, then hook up to tank, forgetting that it needs a regulator, as it was all new to me way back when.
Well I tell you that stove and furnace sure worked real good. :?:h :S :o
Should add, it purged all the lines and cleared all orifices and almost cleared one of mine.:E

RE: Are you sorry you do not have a 12cu ft refrig.

I have seen those that buy a small I guess you might call it a bar fridge, but some appear bigger and they have those plugged in outside and between it and the inside RV fridge they are good to go.
Have thought about buying a small fridge or using a spare camper fridge I have for the extra space if needed.

I put a slider in my long box from Hijacker, it was a good deal and although I did not need it really, I installed it myself and have had no problem.

1996 GMC K2500 454/7.4litre engine 3.73 diffs

So just came back from two weeks off, although not totally accurate as I sometimes filled tank right up to the top and was not consistent due to always trying to fill tank as much as possible, I came up with 10.3 miles per gallon towing a 2004 24.5 Wildnerness lite fifth wheel, up and down the Fraser Canyon.
used 45 gallons on way up, and only 42 gallons on way back.
Not bad for that big of a motor I didn't think.

RE: Facing first hurricane, advice

Fill all your tanks with water. This will make the trailer center of gravity a little lower and hopefully, less likely to flip in the wind.
The fact that you are on active duty and cannot run from the storm makes me say with even more emphasis; THANK YOU for your service.
X2
Yes, I wondered when someone would say "thanks."
So add my thanks.

RE: Had my fist problem

You could try with the right type of crimp pliers to squeeze the ear a bit more, it may tighten up a bit more, if it doesn't work, then you can try a crimp ring, I don't know if I would want to use a regular hose clamp.

Bike rack on front

So have a front hitch on my 96 GMC, was thinking of putting my bike rack on it, appears even with three bikes on, it will have a bit of space between it and the radiator, I am wondering if it will cause too much disruption of the air flow, I know on my old ford with a front mounted spare it was real tight to the rad and appeared to cause problems with cooling, but am thinking bikes would allow lots more air flow than a tire, any input on this?
Anyone have this set up?

RE: Parking on concrete?

I am curious, how thick does the concrete have to be?
I am thinking I would just pour enough for the wheels to sit on, my asphalt has sunken quite a bit from the vehicles over the years, and now the fifth wheel does not help either.
So imagine a small pad of cement would be the ticket, but how thick would one need for a 24.5 foot one?
