RE: Route through Florida to the keys

If you really want to avoid tolls I would suggest US27 south to Krome (SR 997), to US1. However I try to avoid 1 lane highways while towing especially Tamiami trail and Krome.

RE: Ram "Long Hauler" Closer To Production???

... (frankly even though the LH'er has 4wd, the wheelbase alone would be a bigger issue than 4wd or not). That is actually a very good point...a super long truck could be problematic in tight spaces. That was my first thought too. 197.7" wheelbase. It must have a turning radius of an air craft carrier.

RE: is there such a thing as a bumper pull with w/d hookups?

OP... This is why I suggested that you purchase a 5.7 Tundra after your last tundra was totaled. A 5.7 Tundra would have given you the option to upgrade to one of these heavier TT's. The 5.7 engine on the Tundra doesn't help payload. 5.7 Tundra only has average payload of 1,500. Definately not enough for any of those heavier TT's.

RE: Best RV magazines?

I gave trailer life a try, but quickly realized nothing is better than asking questions on the travel trailer section of RV.NET

RE: Do you want Bahia Honda 11-25/12-9

Just wanted to say thank you for offering it to a fellow RV.Netter. Seems like that is the only way I can get a site at Bahia Honda. Would have jumped at the offer, but have plans to take the camper north this Thanksgiving.

RE: MAJOR panic stop, in curve, plus Hensley = Everyone safe

Close enough for me to see the woman driving has dirty blond hair and extremely large eyes. "Extremely large eyes". I can imagine. Glad to hear that you made it out with just an accelerated heart rate. Stay safe.

RE: Dimming a skylight

installing exterior vent covers dimmed the amount of light on ours.

RE: Any ideas what the idea is?

Agree, makes more sense to keep everthing on the left/Port/driver side. Side note, but I have never seen a water hose at the dump station that did not say "non-potable". Then again, you have been RVing a lot longer than I have.

RE: Towing in hard rain. Water entry.

It's fairly common if you have an electric slide room and don't use slide locks to maintain pressure on the seals. Of course if your trailer has no slide and/or you WERE using slide locks, you can rule that out :) Thanks Skip. We have a slide but that area is dry (don't use a slide lock). The water definately came in from the window that is forward of the slide.

Towing in hard rain. Water entry.

Towed through the harderst rain storm ever this weekend and when we arrived at our destination, there was water on the floor under the front side windows. I'm thinking that water came in through those small drain holes that are on the windows. Has anyone else experienced this and/or has advise on how to prevent it from happening. I was thinking of just sealing those drain holes, but I'm sure that they were put there for a reason.

RE: '06 Dodge RAM 1500 SLT SLT 5.7L Hemi towing

2006 Towing Guide 2 or 4WD? Standard or automatic transmission? 3.92's and 4X4 gets you 8250# by the towing guide if you have an automatic. You still have to find the axle weight ratings, on a crew cab it's easy to get overloaded with tongue weight, passengers, and gear. X2

RE: 2012 KEYSTONE PASSPORT

The same swith that turns on the porch light. Mine is a 2011, but the 1 switch controls both light and it is located in the control panel.

RE: 25ft Rule

Have encountered the above restrictions in Florida too. Yep. Bluewater Key in the Keys: "We welcome Class A, B or C motor homes, fifth wheels and travel trailers. Minimum of 24 feet in length (exterior traveling length). Sorry, no tents, truck campers, travel trailer w/canvas or softsided pop-outs, or pop-up campers."

RE: Can I tow this Trailer?

short answer: Yes. Just watch your payload (how much weight in and on the truck. Some models of the Tundra only have 1,200 lbs payload.

RE: How long to TT's last?

"where do they go when they "die"? The way that most are built, I always assumed that they just eventually turn to dust and blow away like dandelion spores.

RE: Best gas mileage to date

Putting my $ on that you changed your average MPG from Miles to Kilometers. 9.1M = 14.6K
