Weekend Warrior Sofa Bed

Has anyone rebuilt, replaced or made a new wooden wall mounted sofa beds for their Weekend Warrior trailer. I have a seat that is starting to get a twist in it.

RE: Silicone removal

3M Adhesive Remover. Removes the silicone and does not harm the paint. If you choose the Proflex be sure to remove all traces of the silicone with something like the 3M product that I mentioed or the Proflex will peel off. I used Proflex on some vertical corner joints that flex slightly and was not happy with its performance so I am going to replace it with silicone. For windows, hatches and other fixtures that don't move Proflex is great.

RE: Talked to Highway Patrol Truck officers about 26,001# CDL

My weight capacity sticker is faded and the embossed numbers are not readable and cannot be raised with a pencil and paper. Good luck to the leo that wants to check it, I have no idea what the sticker says. :)

RE: Anybody have problem with throttle control F250 Diesel

They have to take the turbo off to do the coolers. Have them clean up the turbo while it is off. Should add about 1-1.5 hours to the job.

RE: Anybody have problem with throttle control F250 Diesel

p012F is the trouble code for EOT/ECT corelation. Reference in TSB 09-24-3 Turbo reconditioning TSB 09-16-5. Also get the small parts kit with new turbo bolts, feed tube seals and drain tube o-rings and don't forget the CCV assy o-ring

RE: Anybody have problem with throttle control F250 Diesel

I am assuming that you have the latest pcm/ficm flash which expanded the conditions that turned on the wrench light and initiated reduced power ( 2000 rpm and 20 psi max boost ). I see 3 common problems that set the light, reading the codes narrows it down. Bad FICM. When injector voltage falls below 45 volts the light will come on. If you are not experiencing a hard start or rough running on start up this is not your problem. EOT/ECT differential. When the temp spread is greater than 15 degrees under certain operating conditions the light will turn on. This condition can usually be duplicated without pulling a load. The engine has to be at operating temp and the thermostat has to be operating correctly, usually about 20-30 minutes of driving. To test without a scan tool find a long steep grade, stop at the bottom the go WOT to the top and the light will probably come on. Turbo overboost. If boost exceeds 28.6 psi the light will turn on. Based on your complaint I suspect they will find a code P0234. I have found that sticking VGT problems usually occur when the engine is working hard, like pulling a trailer. There is a procedure to disassemble the turbo, inspect the components, clean them of carbon and rust, apply high temp (2300 degree) nickel based anti-sieze to particular components to reduce rust and resassemble. The TSB oulines the procedure and required parts. Since it is a customer pay job insist on a new unison ring, mormon clamp and lock nut. If the compressor side is badly pitted they may suggest a new center housing rotating assy, way cheaper than a new turbo. Hope this helps.

RE: 1/3 of tire strength gone after 3 years

Three years from the date of manufacture or 3 years from when they were put into service? I have a Maxxis spare tire dated November of 2010, first aired up in Feburary of 2011 and has been in the spare tire carrier under my trailer until today when I used it to replace a 5 year old Denman tire that developed a bubble under the tread. As a side not tire pressure monitoring systems are great. Aired up all my tires to 75 prior to a 400 mile trip. When I was taking it back to storage I noticed 1'tire was 4 pounds lower than the others so I checked it out and found the tread starting to separate (bubble in the tread). This is the third time the TPM system has indicated a problem to me prior to a blow out, the other two times were pressure loss while driving due to picking up a nail in the tire.

RE: Inverter 120 volt Questions

16/3 boat wire, that should handle 300-450 watts of 120 AC just fine. Was considering the Morningstar inverter but the standby set point is above the wattage draw of a few of the devices that I need to power up and it doesn't matter if I have a fan or not because the inverter will be in a compartment where I won't hear it. Go Power fills my needs for less money.

Inverter 120 volt Questions

Decided to go with a Go Power 300 watt Pure Sine inverter and I need to know the acceptable way to attach it to Romex. I do not want to power up the whole trailer with the inverter only a select outlet and I do not want a transfer switch. Can I just put a 3 prong plug on the end of the Romex to plug into the inverter or do I need a power cord attached to the Romex in a construction box. The inverter will be in a protected compartment and I do not want to use extension cord.

RE: WW Repairs

What is the indicator of a rotted out roof. I walk on my 2005 FS2600 roof and it gives a little under my 200 pounds but I can also feel the trailer rocking on the suspension. In the front corners of the roof where the TPO meets the aluminum siding I rap on the roof with my knuckles and it sounds solid and it is not spongy; I had evidence of water seepage there because the screws were rusty and WW did a poor job of sealing the area. I too have a slight sag in my roof by the AC unit, rear corner of it touches the roof. I'll have to check to see if I have finger joint limber on my 2005 which was built in 2004. No leaks around the AC.

inverter install

Thinking of going with a Morningstar 300 watt pure sine inverter but I need some info/opinions on the install. What type of current draw should I expect to see when operating at 300 watts? I will only be running a TV and a laptop but I need to plan for the maximum current draw. I could mount the inverter up by the converter in my trailer and tap into the 4 gauge converter cables. However this would require me to run the 120 volt line under the trailer all the way to the back (attached to the frame) to get it to the area where I want the outlets. I could also put the inverter in the old converter compartment near the back of the trailer and run a 6/8 gauge wire from the battery (depending on current flow) for the hot and a wire to the frame for the ground. I could then run the 110 volt wire inside the trailer to where I want the outlets. My feelings are option one would be easier but option 2 would be safer (no 110 volt wiring exposed to the elements). What you say?

Weekend Warrior Couch Leg

The folding leg on my fold down couch/bed failed and a search of the internet for a new one has proved fruitless. Anyone have a source for the folding legs?
