RE: Stake mount tie downs

I use them on my 94 F350, carrying a 1975 11.5 red dale camper, about 2800lbs. I have no trouble with the system and feel that it is better than the ones that connect to the frame, due to the turnbuckles being shorter, so less room for movement and shifting. I also feel that the tie down is only as strong as the weakest link, which is the 3/8 inch eyebolt, connected to the camper by a 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 inch pine board. JMHO.

RE: Lance 9000 Project

Great re build, looking forward to seeing more pictures. As for the naysayers that think a project should be junked, due to cost. I say anyone who buys a new truck camper off the lot paid more than what it is worth, so really it just comes down to what you want to spend your money on. JMHO.

RE: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!

One reason fuel is so high are wages they are willing to pay workers starting at the ground level. My Son in Law just got offered a job working in the oil fields in virginia, gauranted $6000.00 dollars a month, plus $300.00 per day, when they work on a rig. He has no experiance on a rig at all! Those wages are just rediculous.

RE: 2005 lance cabover front window

Don't know what drip interior drip rail you are speaking of, but it could just be condensation collecting on the inside. Caulking the metal to glass on the inside will not hurt anything, I do it on showers in bathrooms all the time.

RE: Red Dale Resurrection

In case of leaks, LP gas tanks are suppose to be vented out the bottom where the heavier than air LP gas would settle. I could not tell from the pictures if you have provided for venting the LP gas tanks. Of course, it is your choice, and may not apply because of the age of your TC. JumboJet, as shown in this picture the original access door is still in place, with vents to outside of camper. The inside access under seats, is sealled when closed with weatherstriping to keep propane from entering interior, thanks for your concern. http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j411/tonk62/Camper%20Restoration/PICT0376.jpg

RE: Red Dale Resurrection

Don, Thanks for your comments. One does not realize how much a few comments and compliments helps along in a project like this or any other for that matter. If I had not already owned this camper for several years and knew that all the plumbing and appliances were in working order, I would have never considered restoring it. Although it has taken almost a year and $1645.00 to this point, working on it every chance I got, I dont think I could have bought one I could trust in this part of the country for that price.

RE: Red Dale Resurrection

After getting turned down so many times in the past to fill my 37 year old horizontal tanks, I decided to convert to the new style vertical tanks. This is a picture of the tank storage door, it is too small for vertical tanks. http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j411/tonk62/Camper%20Restoration/PICT0376.jpg My tanks are house under the dinette seats, so I cut out the plywood and top of the storage box to make room and access to the new tanks. http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j411/tonk62/Camper%20Restoration/PICT0385.jpg http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j411/tonk62/Camper%20Restoration/PICT0384.jpg http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j411/tonk62/Camper%20Restoration/PICT0386.jpg http://i1084.photobucket.com/albums/j411/tonk62/Camper%20Restoration/PICT0388.jpg
