RE: Florida, Arizona, or Texas, or elsewhere

We have toured the entire southern USA and have spent the past 5 winters in Yuma AZ. Here is my assessment of the topic: Florida = too high priced, too crowded, too much humidity Texas RGV = too humid, a bit crowded Yuma AZ = prices ok, dry air is GREAT, not crowded, NO bugs We will be back in Yuma again this winter(Jan 1). Yuma can be windy and cool some days in January, but has sunshine 360 days a year. Paul

RE: Motorcycle owned by EVEL KNIEVEL.

It appears to be signed by Robbi, NOT Evel. Paul Another look confirms that both signatures are on it. Sorry, my bad. Paul

RE: Up-Date On Mandrake !

Thanks for the update. I was just thinking about him. I think we should all get off the phone and leave him alone. He will be back when he is ready. Paul If you read my original post, HE is the one that phoned me as well as a few others here. So it's obvious "he is ready" since he called. oops......sorry Paul

RE: Disadvantages of retirement?

I no longer have a boss to chew me out, so my wife had to take over that job. It's taking a heavy toll on her. She can no longer smile. Paul

home temperature monitor

Does anyone know of a home temp monitor that will call to a cell phone when the house temp falls below a set degree? I know of those that call to an analog phone, but can't find one that alerts to a cell phone. Paul

RE: Base camp for black hills

We have also stayed at the Rafter J Bar ad would echo Roadpilot's report. Another great place to stay is the municipal campground in Spearfish. It's right on a nice trout stream and has a fish hatchery museum too. Bike paths from town run thru the site so we rode our bikes to town. Don I agree with Don's post. Spend 1/2 of your time in the Hill City area(Rafter J or one of many campgrounds in the area) and 1/2 at the City of Spearfish campground. Think of the Black Hills as sort of an hourglass shaped area. This way you can cover both the north and south ends. Paul

RE: First Time Snowbird

We have spent the past 5 winters(Jan Feb Mar) at Cocopah RV and Golf Resort in Yuma and are going back again this year. I think it is the best for the money in the Yuma area. At least half of the snowbirds are Canadian. PM me if you would like more info on Yuma. Paul
