New Back up cam wiring

I want to install a backup cam and the documentation that came with my old coach says that it is "back up cam ready" which I presume means that the wires are in place. However, I can see co sign of any that resemble the correct wires either under the dash or in the cabinet over the rear bed. Any one with a Coachman have a clue?

RE: Need Rcommendations On (2) RV Insurance Providers

If you're AARP, try Hartford AARP. I god about 1/2 off what I'd been paying with my prior insurer.

RE: 1997 F-53 motorhome chassis steering

I don't have a problem with the turning radius of my '99 F53 w/ 228" WB. But then, I have almost 40 acres. ;>) Really, it will turn around (length restricted)in almost the same area as my pickup. I suspect another problem. Check to see if it does run up to the stops.

Why not replace it with something nice. Get rid of that cheap plastic.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v644/114thcobra/99sink.jpg

RE: Can you use the leveling jacks for tire removal?

My manual for the HWH levelers says OK to use for tire change. Do chock the tires that remain on the ground.

RE: More LED lights (long post with lots of pictures)

I bought a bunch of these from China/Ebay for 2@ $10 that did the same thing. They're junk! You get what you pay for and my experience is the +_ $25 SMT bulbs work well. The ones I bought from Superbright LED 2 years ago are still working flawlessly.
Here is a picture, of what one of mine looks like. The three LED's that are off in the picture flicker on and off very rapidly.

On the other LED more than three flicker at a time.
They appear to be about the same size as the ones that Les has in his pictures, but I don't know if they are SBL or SMD, as I don't know what the difference is.

RE: Onan 5500 Marquis carbon build up

The biggest problem concerning carbon build up is mixture. I have 2300+ hours on my 5500 Marquis and have done nothing to it but plugs and oil & filter changes. Run it hard and long when I do use it, and excercise it hard once a month when in the off season.

RE: Propane Gauge

The tank gage is magnetic, so no through the tank connection. The sensor for the inside panel is also magnetic. If you have a 1/2 tank it should read 1/2. Fill the tank and see how many gals. it takes and compute the accuracy from there. The floats do sometimes stick but generally propane gages are pretty accurate.

RE: What to set acumulator tank pressure to?

As a certified Goulds water systems installer, the accepted industry standard (as stated above) is 2 psi under the cut in pressure of the pump at static. Ie-no water in the tank/pump off. That standard yields the best pressure/volume for the system. Lower air pressure will yield more water but at a cost of less pressure down to static and also increased risk of a bladder rupture. The tanks, not yours. :<)

RE: A/C Life Span

Thanks, guys! I guess I'll replace the seal. I think the shroud can wait. I recently found a thin, six-inch crack in the top, which I covered with duct tape as a temporary measure. Maybe it could be glued.
Try to give the 4 seal bolts a few more turns and use Eternabond on the shroud. It's good for many more years, probably.;)

RE: Propane Gauge

Are you saying that the inside indicator does not register the same as the gage on the tank or are you questioning the tank gage?

These things are so simple that if you search this forum for info you'll know more than that shop. Run, find a local mechanic if need be to help.

RE: refrigerator door hinge adjustment

There is another screw on the right side of that hinge bracket. You might have to pull the fridge out to access it.

RE: a/c start capacitor fried

Yep, no, & you betchya! I have one AC that was vandalized (I tossed the other & replaced) that would stall my Onan 5500. I put a hard start kit in it and it works like a champ.

RE: Atwood Hydro Flame Furnace won't start

You need ample 12 volt power to run the furnace. If your battery is low & you're not plugged into shore power, the blower will not run fast enough to close the sail switch (Airflow problem).

RE: Anyone ever change a starter in an Onan???

It is not enough to just have 12+ volts to the starter. If you are getting the volts from the converter it will not start, you need amps. Is your battery disconnect disconnected? Do you have good full, strong batteries?

RE: Peanut Butter Not Working

After catching hundreds this summer(and missing even more), I broke down and got 2 kittens. I trained them to mouse(food from the traps) and now at almost 4 months they feed themselves. A cat door to the garage gives them their safe haven, while allowing them to roam and prey at will and my traps have been empty(mostly) now for weeks. An interresting observation-they caught a shrew, and wouldn't eat it. They just left it on the garage floor for me to see. It has been the only body left, only some parts previously.

RE: electronic winterizing

In marginal cold (I have in the 20's now for overnight lows)blowing the lines and antifreeze in the traps is good enough. When I shut it down for the winter (-20° for over 8 hrs), I antifreeze everything. We're heading south in 9 days so keeping 'systems' at the ready is imperative. My biggest concern is the waste valves and although I have 30A power available and hooked up, I use some antifreeze there now as insurance. If I were to lose power, I won't lose my plumbing.
