RE: Using polish rather than wax to shine up the 5th wheel

Polish leaves behind nothing to protect the finish whereupon wax does.So using a good wax will help protect your finish....Meguiars products are all very good......On all these forums you will find opinions run rampant and thats mostly what most are.....as for this ZEP stuff, well if you feel its ok to take floor wax and cover your RV with it go right ahead..it has no UV protectants in it and in my opinion after refinishing automobiles for 30 years it will just cover the problem instead of taking care of it!!!! What does your floors look like after all that wax build up????? And would you really take some floor wax out in the driveway and use it on your daily driver,or nice car???? its a floor wax people!!!!! Some that have RVs way beyond repair of the finish might benefit from this product because of the 'I HAVE NOTHING TO LOOSE' outlook.....

RE: Exterior paint

I have been an automotive refinisher for 30 years now,I can tell you if you have 'A GUY' thats gonna fix and paint your trailer and he doesnt know what kind of paint and material to use....I would think about rethinking that whole plan out!!!!!!!!!!!!
In all honesty like the above poster said, find a bodyshop to do it,shop around, maybe you will find a fellow RVer with a little bit of sympathy and help you out!!!!!!! Enamels paints are a thing of the past, everything today is Urethane Basecoat Clearcoat and me at this time ,I am spraying waterborne paint called ENVIROBASE manufactered by PPG a green product, that still gets clearcoated..........

RE: RV Frustrations

I think lots of people have entitlement issues when it comes to spending a dollar......Its like they think if they buy anything with their 'HARD EARNED MONEY'....it is under warranty for everything and anything forever,Like for instance if a tire goes low the dealer should come put air in it or they are looking to hire an attorney,or they want to verbally bash them, take out adds in local newspaper and put the name of the dealership all over the internet.....now of course this is an exageration.....but I know I am not far off
Please dont think I am taking away from the legimate ones who truelly do wind up with the LEMONS out there, cause for you I truelly do have sympathy for.......

RE: ZEP treatment PICTURES

Ok I now see more information I hadnt seen earlier.....most are applying this product to older Rvs with finishes that cant be restored with regular wax......in that case ,a maybe'I HAVE NOTHING TO LOOSE' type situation,I guess i can see the advantages of trying this product......Personally I wouldnt let anything I owned get to the point that this is my last choice......My brother own a very old travel trailer that I think i will attempt to persuade him into experimenting with this idea.....

RE: ZEP treatment PICTURES

I have been painting vehicles for close to 30 years now,I have used everything under the sun on the care of outside finishes on cars, bikes, boats ect ect ect....I am just gonna say ...if you think your RV looks bad before the application of these Miracle Products, just wait until they start breaking down on the outside of your RV....I have had vehicles come in after using very high dollar new fangled technologically advanced outside waxes and or finishes and it wasnt pretty, the only way to restore the vehicle back to its original lustre was to literally compound with a high speed buffer, the entire vehicle to remove the product, and then apply the correct wax....Just think about what your doin.....applying a product that belongs on your floor to the outside of a vehicle that has no UV protection and is in tempratures upward of 200 degrees at times depending upon color and geographical location.......Its your RV,you do what you want to it,I am just warning you that this should fall under a common sense type situation whereupon you should know that,if its almost free,or entails no sweat....you can bet your ass that it isnt a good deal......
Of course this is just my opinion, and I am sure I will have many tell me just how great this product is....I am here to say there is no quick fix to protecting the outside finishes of vehicles,rv's,boats,bikes,planes....unless it is in the finish itself......

RE: Johns Hopkins

Bar Harbor is by far the cosest place to Johns Hopkins.I have lived here all my life, camped at Bar Harbor and having a Dad that just succumbed to the dreaded disease spent much time at Johns Hopkins..I can vouch for the campground, yet it is tight and small and then just a straight shot down rte 40 to Johns Hopkins,I would say maybe 20-25 miles distance maybe 30-45 minutes timewise.....Good Luck with your latest chapter in your lifes journey, you are in y prayers, and if you need any more information dont hesitate to contact me via private message......

RE: Buyer beware of RV Parts Country…

If you paid by credit card most the times you can take the situation up with them and they can help you by refunding the complete amount after an investigation happens, but at least you get it all returned.....

RE: How to find a place to stop?

http://www.goodsamclub.com/travel/freetriprouting/I went on Goodsam.com and used their trip planner and guessed at what point I would be getting tired and wanted to stop for the evening, after searching for places to spend the nite as the nite came...by he way it was a very quiet rest stop not a walmart, cracker barrell ,truck stop or campground,we stopped at 1130 pm and was back on the road by 7am

RE: Nationwide Insurance is NOT ON YOUR SIDE

We own a bodyshop and we are in the collision industry and repair cars and trucks in accidents.I have done this for 30 years now and let me tell you straight up,If you only knew how the insurance company wants to penny pinch the repair of your vehicle and use aftermarket parts versus OEM and not follow through with repairs that would stand the test of time, you would not be that happy with Insurance companies at all.....I could go on and on about horror stories throughout my carreer and tell you about the unprofessionalism and monopolizing ways the insurance industry TREATS CUSTOMERS ONCE THEY ARE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND YOU FINALLY HAVE TO USE THAT POLICY AFTER PAYING FOR IT FOR YEARS AND SOMETIMES DECADES.........For me and the situations we as a buisness have been put in by insurance companies ,well I just tend to believe it is a somewhat legalized mafia!!!! Dont get me started......
