RE: Good Idea ???

Here's the rack we added (local trailer specialty shop).
Doesn't haul toys, but I needed something for the 100# generator, the spare rib and the bikes, as well as a blue tote when needed.

If you don't experience any chucking, then you probably don't need to spend the money.

RE: Recliners for 5'ers

Here's our replacement for the sofabed.
You gotta be comfortable if you are going to be roughing it.
Picked up this wallhugger dual recliner from the Basset Elway collection. The lever to allow you to recline is on the inside, not the outside, so you can put this closer to the wall on either side.

It takes up less space than the one we removed, so we will move the table a little to have some more room. We removed the 2 mandatory swivel rockers and gave them to Goodwill a few weeks ago.
Here's the one we removed, going to give it away, not very functional.

RE: Thanks for the low cost 6V GC battery boxes...

I'm confused. You can buy boxes just like those that are actually tall enough without any mods. I paid $10 each for two of them. Am I missing something?
You might not have missing something, I might have. Where did you find the boxes for $10 ?

RE: Thanks for the low cost 6V GC battery boxes...

Just a thought, because I am looking for the exact same setup. My batteries sit outside on the tongue. How does rain water get out because of the new "seam" from the bottomless box? Is it acceptable to drill a hole in the bottom of the box to let this out?
Maybe run a bead of caulking or sealant.....

Thanks for the low cost 6V GC battery boxes...

Thanks to this forum, I knew to go to Wally World and buy the cheap battery boxes to use for the Golf Cart batteries...
I bought 4 of these:
http://inlinethumb26.webshots.com/28249/2984521110101031474S600x600Q85.jpg
(One I got for half price as it was missing a cover, little did they know I didn't need it).
Cut the bottom out of one to fit into the other...
http://inlinethumb40.webshots.com/44007/2440155410101031474S600x600Q85.jpg
Also cut the 2 tabs under each handle on the one I cut the bottom off...
http://inlinethumb44.webshots.com/6507/2552695190101031474S600x600Q85.jpg
Worked out great. I never would have known to do this if it wasn't for this forum! Thanks to those before me who posted.
I'll be using these on the pontoon boat for trolling and bait tank pumps... have to tie the 2 straps together as one is not long enough.

RE: 12v to 6v

I use Sam's club 6 volt golf cart batteries. They have held up well for me. Mine are 6 years old and still strong. If I was going to do a lot of long term boon-docking I would buy a small inverter generator with a 12 volt output to charge the batteries.
Don't think that the 12volt output from the generators are worth anything, reportedly very noisy dc. Better to use the 120 vac to hook a good 3 stage charger to recharge the batteries.

RE: bike racks

We had a need to have a rack for the generator, spare tire as well as 2 bikes.
Note the two vertical rods adding support for the bike rack to the basket to keep them from moving.

RE: what does a morride pin box do and how mutch are they

We just bought one from Tweetys with free shipping. Make sure you do the measurement to confirm you are buying the correct one, there are some lippert boxes out there that are mislabeled and you do not want to have to pay the return shipping if you get the wrong one...

RE: Source For Battery Box to Hold Two 6v?

After reading what others did, bought this box from Wally World-
Holds a pair nicely. Dinner was ready when we got there.

Should be easy enough to add a hose to vent. We I recharged I had the cover off and doors open.

Thanks for the link. However, I do not recall seeing anything other than an open pipe down there, I'll look again, perhaps I don't have an AAV at all?

Take the little tiny driver bit and take the cover off, then a pair of pliers to bend each platter 90 degrees back and forth. Then rip the heads off.

Exposed Pipe Vent under Sink

Happened to be looking under the kitchen sink and noticed a vent for the plumbing...
Why is it not vented to the roof?
