RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

De-Winterized it. Added water, ran hot water heater, cleaned out sinks, toilet, etc. Changed the air filter in the generator. Pulled the CB out as I never ever use it. Airing it out. Getting ready to go this weekend for two nights and then in 2 weeks, heading to Disney in FL.

Windshield curtain question (real dumb).. LOL

How does everyone keep the curtain from blowing up on the screen of the window while driving? I have tied back but the bottoms on both sides fly up and get sucked into the screen. Thanks.
P.S. I did say it was a dumb question in the thread topic! LOL LOL

RE: LP Gas Odor question

Well the RV is in service now. They hooked it up to some monitor and let it sit all day and showed no leak. They put LP in it first let it run. Sprayed the line with soapy water they said and no leaks anywhere. So they are gonna top it off and I'm picking it up tonight. Not sure what next. Have to watch it and see I guess.

RE: LP Gas Odor question

This morning the odor wasn't as bad. Still by the door but not in the back of the RV, but a small odor by the stove. Gonna make an appointment with the RV place close by, as they do LP filling and are certified to do repairs too. I will post here when it gets figured out.
Thanks for all the help, tips and suggestions.

RE: LP Gas Odor question

Well this morning, I went out and the battery had a little water around the same cap, but there was some condensation on all the batteries. We had some pretty good rain last night. Not sure if that's an issue. Gonna have to the LP filled this week anyways, so I think I'm just gonna pay them to check the lines.
I am gonna air it out first though and see if that helps.

RE: LP Gas Odor question

In our rig, I had the refer off, so it wasn't using any anyways. Will have to continually check the stove knobs to be safe anyways. Gonna open it up once it quits raining, air it out and see if the battery issue I found (a few posts up) was the culprit.
Not gonna light up anything until it's aired out though, just to be safe.

RE: LP Gas Odor question

Ok on one of the batteries, I did have some "water" (little bit dime size) right next to the cap. pulled all the caps and the levels were all the same, about 1/2 to 3/4" down from the top of the whole. Wiped off the extra water, and put the caps on and tapped them down with a screwdriver so they are tight. Hopefully that will fix it. I did notice it's a heavier smell at the door where the batteries are, so fingers are crossed. Thinking about trying to light a pilot light.

RE: LP Gas Odor question

batteries reading same full charge. not hot. pulled the LP alarm and see no expiration date, but a red stamped April 2000 was on it. guessing the manufacture date. will look at replacing that. Afraid to light the stove to test the burners.

RE: LP Gas Odor question

Stove knobs were in the off position. I start to get a headache if I'm out there too long. That's why I think it's gas. The kitchen sink has been covered with the "knife boards" for lack of knowing what they are called.. Fit over the sink and seal it off. There is no odor coming out of that. I turned to stove on and bent down and smelled and it was different odor then what the whole place smells like.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Drove it for the first time this year, got an oil change and found out we needed a new serpentine belt, so we had that replaced. Getting ready for FL in June!! Can't wait.

LP Gas Odor question

This might be dumb but... when we go into the RV it has a pretty strong propane gas odor. The tank has been on all winter. I forgot to turn it off. The tank looks like it's reading empty and the electronic levels gauge says empty. I run the heater and it just blows out cold air. The LP alarm near the floor is not going off, but the odor is pretty heavy. Any suggestions?
My rig is a 36 Winnebago Brave.

How to fix door

Went out to MH and found this a couple weeks ago. Just not sure how to fix this. I'm wondering if some Silicon might hold the two pieces together. Also the screw on the right side will not stay in the hole anymore. Wondering what I can do to secure that also. Thanks for the help.

RE: Power question

Ok. Got it all back together again. Power on, batteries connected, and appears to be working. The battery post after everything was on and the batteries were up to 10.4 and climbing. Heat worked and stayed on, the CO detector is no longer on low voltage, so it must be all good. I will be keeping an eye on it though, just in case!
Again, I REALLY appreciate all the help (and I'm sure all the money you guys saved me by doing it myself).

RE: Power question

Well I got the new converter in the mail today, although it's too late to put in as I have to leave for work, but I did unbox and plug it in and got 14.76 on the meter when tested, so the old one must have been the issue. I'll post when I get it in and working. Thanks again for all the help!

RE: HWH Fluid?

This might be dumb but where and why would I need to add fluid? My A is new to me last year and is a 2001. Not sure if I need to check that too! Thanks.

RE: Windshield curtain...

We were just afraid to put them in the washer for fear the plastic c clips would break.
I like the Club Soda trick too! Gonna remember that one.

RE: Windshield curtain...

This reply is way late, but we finally did what one of the posters suggested and put them in a tub of oxyclean. We had some water damage on them, and the stains all but came out after one cleaning. The water was GROSS in about 2 minutes of washing. I let them soak in the water for about 4 hours and then rinsed them, the air dried for awhile and then put in the dryer on "Delicate" cycle and they came out awesome. We will probably re-wash them at the end of this season and see if the rest will come out.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Took out my Converter, and ordered a new one as this one is not working at all. Will be installing it myself hopefully next week.
I also cleaned my front curtain and got it back up. It was DIRTY!! We just got it last year and it's a 2001. I took them down and put them in some Oxyclean in the bathtub. The water was rust colored in less then 1 minute. Still a residual of water stains, but holy cow it looks great compared to what it was. We will be washing again at the end of the season.
