RE: KeePass?

I have been using the PC and Mac versions for years. They are both easy and secure to use. Just started using the portable version on a flash drive I keep other portable apps on.

Cool toys

Here are a couple of videos of RC planes I ran across. Hope you enjoy.
The world's largest RC plane. They actually use a pilot, co- pilot and a flight engineer to fly it, just like the real planes did.
A cool toy and a good pilot. Watch him nail the landing.

RE: Bean Bag Mount for Garmin Nuvi?

We use the Garmin bean bag mount. It works better than the suction cup mount did. The suction cup came off a couple of times. The Garmin mount we bought has the same stem the suction cup mount does to mount the unit directly to the mount. The stem is adjustable.

I look forward to your posts. Maybe some people need to learn what the different categories in the forum are actually for.

RE: If you have a late model Garmin, you will want this freeware

Thanks for the link. Thats the most fun I've had with a GPS since I started using one. What great fun modifying the stock lines like recalculating to "just a minute, I screwed up again and I'm figuring it out."
I've got ours saying "Are you lost again, dummy?" for recalculating. Just so happens DW was driving the first time it was tripped. The look on her face was priceless.:B

Some interesting sand art.

Here are some links to some very interesting sand art videos. I think the twenty minutes I spent watching the videos were well spent. The art is performed by a Ukraine's Got Talent contestant, Kseniya Simonova, who uses music, light and sand to tell a constantly evolving story. She recently won the talent contest.
The first video is totally awesome.
The second video, a story about the invasion and occupation of the Ukraine during WW II leaves the audience spell bound.
Hope you enjoy.

RE: Microsoft to Mac?

If you get Microsoft Office for Mac at the time you buy your Mac it is fairly inexpensive. The full version has everything you are likely to need for a home office. I have never had a compatibility problem between the Windows and the Mac versions of office.
Most e-mail clients have a Mac version so there shouldn't be a problem with e- mail.
Kim Komando has some very good tips for securing a new Mac. She has a lot of tips on Macs on her website at www.komando.com. Search her site for more tips on Macs. She has a lot.
The Apple web site has a lot of good information. One is Mac 101. Another is at the Apple forum boards. When I was thinking about switching to Mac I subscribed to the forums and asked questions. The people there are glad to help and some of them are very knowledgeable.

RE: Lastpass, password manager

I've been using the free, open source password manager KeePass Password Safe now for many years. It's actually very versatile, and you can use it to store any info., not just passwords. It gives you a choice of encryption, and you can use either a master password or a key file. It will also sync(2.0v) its' password database with all your computers. Plus there are versions available for virtually all platforms PC, Mac, Linux, iPhone, Blackberry, PocketPC, Palm, J2Me Phones, and Android. Even a portable version for a USB stick. And it's Free!
I really don't see a need for an online password manager, as you can simply store a backup encrypted password file simply by emailing it to yourself as an attachment. Therefore, you always have an extra secured copy of your passwords wherever you have email access. I use my Gmail account for backup file storage, which currently allows users 7GB of email storage. If you're using Firefox, there is even an add-on which allows your Gmail account to act as a file storage space.
Ditto.

RE: Snow Leopard problem?

Ever since I updated, Firefox and some of my video and audio will occasionally quit unexpectedly. I thought it might have to do with going to 64 bit.
