RE: Magic Jack?

I use a Netalk, very similar to Majicjack but better customer service. They also have an active forum. Very pleased with it, have had it over two years

RE: Slingbox usage to obtain Expressvu TV service in US States

To those who are concerned about the investment in Bell Equipment. Unfortunately what You have is about on par with having a Film Camera. We went through the $ame issue years ago when We bought a Bell System. After one Winter of Cruddy TV reception. We switched to Star Choice now Shaw Direct and have never had a problem since. Actually that is not even close to being accurate! Maybe it was years ago since that's the last time you used it according to your post..but not anymore...you're post is definitely not helpful!

RE: Audiobook Player

Quartzter, I use a Creative Zen mp3 player and I read your suggestion for the Sansa Clip Zip with interest. And I saved it in case my Zen goes bad. I've had it a few years and I don't think they make it any longer. I like the idea of having a card so you can increase the storage on the mp3. I listen to library audio books with my Zen. So after reading you post I realized that I too have a card slot on the Zen! I had forgotten all about it. So thanks, I've now increased my Zen storage! lol...you're welcome...Creative Zen was a good player as well...if it gives up the ghost I think you would be happy with the Sansa Clip, Clip plus or Clip Zip, especially with the Rockbox firmware.

RE: Audiobook Player

I listen to audiobooks all the time, I use a Sansa Clip Zip, they are not expensive with excellent sound quality. The bookmark feature remembers where you were when you turn it off and works fine. the player is very small so is good for walking, running, and or the gym as well. but There is third party firmware for it that gives it even more capability and provides for multiple bookmarks for each audiobook and/or podcast. The firmware is called Rockbox and is free, and not difficult to install. Hope this helps....

RE: Slingbox usage to obtain Expressvu TV service in US States

You can switch to Shaw Direct formally Star Choice and get Reception as far South as Guatemala. Why Anyone who travels South still uses Bell Express Vue is totally beyond Me. As stated earlier a Slingbox will work as long as You have a good High speed Computer Connection but falls apart when limited Bandwidth is encountered. I want dependable TV reception so use a Shaw Direct Dish which sets up quickly and easily any I stop. Takes about 5 Minutes most times to get a strong signal. Perhaps those of us who have money invested in Bell Expressvu hardware, dishes, switches, PVR's is the reason why we still use Bell Expressvu.
