RE: Newbie - 1st time towing Car on Tow Dolly - Tips?

This is what we have been doing for the last 3 yrs and the straps stay tight
drive vehicle onto dolly
back up vehicle on dolly to rear stops
put the car in neutral
hook up straps and start tightening them
car will roll forward as you tighten straps
put car in park-close the windows (don't ask me how we know)
In 3 yrs over 12k miles I never had straps come loose -each time we stop for fuel or pit stop I check them and may have added a click now & then but never have they come loose
I assume your dolly has brakes-(I HOPE)
Good luck on your adventures Rich

RE: 2000 Fleetwood Flair main battery disconnect

2000 Fleetwood Flair /30' /V-10 /F-53 chassis
Off subject a bit but if you have the Ford chassis change the sway bar mounting holes to stiffen chassis you will love the results in handling and it doesn't cost anything-Rich

RE: AWFUL RV PARKS

If you try staying at State Parks you find that 25 -30 a night isn't bad for a place without people staying year round-We have found out that SP and Coe parks are our best bet an on occasion we stay at Passport parks but it is getting to the point we have certain ones that are nice for overnighter-example Duck creek in KY-Camp Lakewood in Effingham ILL
Pecan Point in Dothan Al-one other avenue is some of the camping world stores have hook-ups for overnight stays-Rich

RE: F53 22,000 chassis factory anti-sway bar

2000 Fleetwood Flair/F-53/V-10/30'
I did both my sway bars and made my own rear panhard bar (trac bar) we just finished a 4200 mile trip and it made a huge difference-the semi's going by didn't move us and the big thing is I can drive longer without getting worn out-we drive at 58 -62 mph which is comfortable and did two days of 500 plus miles without getting tired-I think it is a good improvement-Rich

house batteries

2000 Fleetwood Flair/30'/V-10 engine/F-53 chassis
My 2 6 volt batteries (house batteries)are getting to the point where they need to get replaced,I can't figure out why I can't use two 12 volt batteries which are readily available with a lifetime warranty for 1/3 the price of six volt batteries-We don't boondock or stay at walmarts and every place we stay has electric hook-ups I feel that (2) 12 volt batteries would do the job-suggestions welcome-Rich

RE: Do I really want equal in my new tires

Since I put equal beads in my new steer tires I noticed no vibration at all-my hand use to tingle and I thought it was the nature of the beast but even when I ride the bike or a car for extended periods my fingers would tingle but it don,t with the MH anymore I think it is a good product--RICH

RE: Generator

Well I have not found the complete solution but if I hit the Aux bat and generator at the same time the genny fires up immediatlely-I have a mechanical disconnect on my engine battery And one one my house batteries so I'll dig little more to see why it won't start off just one battery source like my older bounder did--anyhow thanks---Rich

Generator

2000 Fleetwood flair/30'/f-53 chassis/ V-10
My gen will start fine as long as engine is running but if I shut off engine gen growls like it isn't getting enough juice-I have undone all grounds and even drilled new holes in chassis and ground around hole till I saw new metal but none of that changed anything.
Does the genny start off the house batteries or the engine battery??? I have been thinking the genny starts off house batteries which read 13.62 but I am lost !, THANKS IN ADVANCE. RICH

RE: Onan Genny

Wildmanbarker has come up with a thing I may be able to try-Problem is We are headed to Fla in the morning for a 83 day trip-SO I will stay tuned to see if any other possible solutions arise and I'll try each one till the thing does more than growling-It should be in the high 30's tomorrow morning so I'll try putting 12 volt jumper on the far side of the solinoid and see if they will make it crank-Thanks Rich
