RE: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator Thread

Trying to clean the spark arrestor on my 7 month old CPE2000i but after removing the clamp and outer ring with screen I can't seem to get the S.A. out of the exhaust tube. I am wondering if tapping it with a hammer would help or just cause damage? Any suggestions? Thanks, Radar.

RE: Champion Generator Spark Arrester

Don't know if this proper site for my Champion 2000 inverter/generator but here is my question. I am having a trouble removing the spark arrestor as it seems to almost welded tight inside the exhaust tube. I removed the clamp and the outer chrome ring & screen easily and was wondering why the S.A. wouldn't come out easily. Would tapping it with a hammer break it loose or cause damage? Suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks, Warren.

RE: Dometic fridge power requirement?

You should leave the fridge on gas when running the gen. anyway. That way you burn gas, make heat, cool fridge. This is much better than burn gas, make explosion, spin generator, make electricity, make heat, cool fridge. HUH?

RE: Dometic fridge power requirement?

Thanks for all the replies--The fridge is the standard top freezer model and I believe the the tag on the inside wall says it draws(?) 2.9 amps. which, I think, is around 300 watts. Just enough to ramp up the genny when you add it to the converter. Thanks again, Warren.

RE: Dometic fridge power requirement?

Thanks P.T.--makes sense that it would slow down after the batteries are fully charged by the converter leaving mainly the fridge as the major draw. Sound likely? Warren. ps--now that our teams are 1 & 1 it looks like Sept.29 will be the rubber match.

Dometic fridge power requirement?

I noticed that when drycamping and using my generator (Champion 2000) it would run at higher RPM's for quite a while before idling back. I began checking for anything causing a larger power draw and found when I shut off the auto on the fridge and ran it on gas only the generator went back to low RPM's and stayed there. Just wondered if the fridge should be drawing that much power? Thanks for any input, Warren.
