RE: Installed my 30A plug

We did the same thing last summer! Took us two campers and 6 years, but we love it and wouldn't be without it in the future.

RE: Need Guidance from the Experts

To the OP, I have also been there done that with an Expy. We had a 2010 Expy that we bought to tow something more substantial once we upgraded from our HTT. Well, we went all the way up past 30' and bought the camper we have now. All the dealers told me "you'll be fine"--well I was not fine, as I actually had suspected (and read on here), but a new TV was not in the cards at the time we bought our new TT. Long story short, I did tow with the Expy for two seasons, and I have the ProPride hitch, thankfully. It was NOT a pleasant experience. I will not ever again pull a 30+ footer with a 1/2 ton SUV. We now have a Ford F-250, which is great! While a pick-up is not an ideal TV for a large family, we just decided that for the safety of towing and the enjoyment of camping if we ever all don't fit in the pick-up we'd bring our other car. Luckily, for us it's a Prius so we don't get socked twice with MPGs! Oh, and we also sold our HTT on Craigslist and got $2K more than the dealer was offering us for a trade. Best of luck on your search...

RE: Camping in this economy

We are probably going to camp our highest number of nights this year. We have a few short trips planned, and then one long trip to New England that will be about 1400 miles round trip. We are also looking to combine a trip to VA beach with a trip to DE to save on gas. We just set a budget and are trying to stick to it. We all just do what we can do...though it'd help if gas was a tad cheaper!
