RE: I've gone to the dark side
Very nice, I did the same a couple months ago, my poor Lance is just sitting around with nothing to do, I was taking it hunting for a few weeks, but I'll have company a few times and it's nice to have the extra room for everyone and the dogs.
RE: Generator stops...unexplained
I have a Generac Impact 34, propane generator on my 1999 Lance 820...only 19 hours. Recently purchased camper, so history is unknown.
I can start it, but it will quit running after 5-10 seconds. If I hold the start button, it will continue to run until I release the switch (same results if I use the inside start switch). When it is running, it runs smooth.
- Oil level is good...just changed it.
- new spark plug
- new air cleaner
It must be some sensor that is deactivated by the starter. Any help with troubleshooting is very much appreciated.
Dean
It's a Generac!
Mine did the same thing after about 21 hours, ended up being the magnets coming loose, $1500 repair bill, but now it is very very quit and works great.
RE: How to Adjust Airbag Pressure??
For the most stable ride you need to add just enough air so the overload springs are just "touching". Lifting the truck off the overloads defeats their purpose and could actually create more sway by riding on bubbles vs steel springs.
If this position still has the truck in a squat attitude then extended bump stops like Stable Loads are needed so you can level the truck and still keep overloads engaged.
If a newer 2500 series with no overloads get to a spring shop and have some custom ones made. Then, like me, you can totally eliminate those pesky, PITA, leaking, always fiddling with air bags!!!!! :B
This is what I do, I added longer rubber bumpers so the overloads would touch and use 60 pounds of pressure, best ride for ours.
RE: auto slide hitches
I have a Pullrite and as kennethwooster said, it breaks down and isn't too bad to remove, I was told that Reese has a new auto slider coming out, anyone know about it?
RE: TRUCK AIR BAGS
I have a set of airbags sitting on my garage floor, had to take them out to install the super-slider. I paid around $250 for them and installed myself, a good bit and a 18 volt drill a few hours and save several hundred dollars. Never needed to change air pressure so I just filled manually. I put on the Timbrens and they seem to work well with the fifth wheel, haven't had the truck camper back on yet so don't know if they'll handle it as well and the air bags did.
RE: Hail Damage and Insurance
My yard looks like yours with the leaves and plants, but the house paint looks ok havn't checked the roof yet. I get my campers in a lot east of here a few miles and will go over this morning and see if it hail there and how bad, looks like you had some bigger hail, here it started at marble size then went down to pea size and hail about 15 minutes with very high wind. I live south near C-470.
