RE: Considering the RV Full Time Lifestyle

We made the change 2 1/2 years ago. Never been happier or healthier. I still work full time. My wife quit her full time job, now just relaxes. I have 3 more years till retirement. We spend alot more time together. Life is good. Our prayers go out for your son.

RE: 1st Time used camper buyer

I love our Lance. I'll check tomorrow at our local Lance dealer. He doesn't have a web site, but has great prices. Bought ours there used, about $4000 less than anywhere else, for the same size camper. Will let you know, if they have anything used.

RE: Space heaters.

We use a Honeywell Radiant oil heater, until it drops below 36 or so. Never a problem so far. Furance set at 65. We sleep well at night. Just finished putting plastic window wrap up. Cuts the draft out big time. We are now ready for old man winter.

RE: All-Weather Fifth Wheels

Been fulltiming in the NW for 2 years now. Seen temps down to -0. Our 1999 Alfa Ideal has been great. I have closed in the underbelly. That helped alot.Have not had any frozen pipes. Good luck, we looked for our 5th wheel for two years. Looked at alot of brands. We did our homework. It pays to take your time.

RE: Skirting

I made our skirt with a 2x6 frame, plastic sign sheets and foil insulation on the inside. The plastic sheets are old Pepsi,Coke,Beer signs you see at stores. I just talk to the salesmen to save them for me after they took them down. I like free.

RE: covering our camper

I leave my camper on all year. Need the weight for snow traction and winter camper. I do use the air moisture removing stuff. Dri-air? In the winter months.

RE: New kitchen lighting

the lights are 120. Purchased at Lowes. Power from the outlet behind the microwave. We do turn off the lights when using the microwave. Installed a switch below the micro/washer switch. Had to drill a few holes to run the wire. Working great. My DW has been cooking like crazy.

RE: New kitchen lighting

Sorry to say but you and your wife are not going to like holding the doors up while you use the inside of the cabinets. Been there.
:S Not sorry at all. Bought two sets of door struts. That will work just fine. Install this weekend. pics to follow. My DW is so happy. Oh, also have a camper for traveling for now. I just love all the great input this site gives. :W

RE: New kitchen lighting

Install wasn't bad..a couple hours for me. Won't be for 3 more years until I retire before I start pulling this home around. But then I'll tear the lights down. They wouldn't survive across the parking lot. :E

New kitchen lighting

Installed new track lighting for my DW in our Alfa. As she is top chef, wanting better lighting. As we all know, she wants, she gets. Lol.:W Makes it cozy now. Have to flip the hinges on the cabinets though. So they open up towards the ceiling.

We own two. Fulltime in our Alfa Ideal 35ft. Vacation in our Lance 1130. Best of both worlds. My DW won't fulltime in the camper...;)
