I leave furnace off when driving. I have Dual pane windows and additional insulation package so I only lose about 30 degrees over the course of 8 hours. Start out on a 20 degree morning @ 70 inside and only down to 40-45 8 hours later. Randy

Only place open that I know of is Waterloo -Portage Lake Water is off and bathrooms closed but there is electric. Not really out of your way if you take 127 south from Lansing to Jackson. I-94 takes you back to I-69 25 miles to the west. Randy

We surived the 12 hour, 400 mile Black Friday. We left the house at 10AM for lunch and just walked in the door at 10:00PM. Stoped for gas, Stoped for lunch, Stopped to visit Dan & Lori, Found out where Duane had lunch, Stopped at Bass Pro, Stopped at Sonic, and nurmouious stops at assorted rest areas. Im glad these really fun days only come once in a while. :B Randy & Shereen

That whole outer loop said premium electric on the drop down reservation list. 30 amp "Premium " because lake or channel front.

Could you watch from Jetty Park? I got to thinking about going to a launch last year when Larry was posting updates and now you guys. I think there are only 5 more shuttle launches planned. Might have to pass on a few rallies to open up more vacation time.
Just got home from watching a empty factory burn about 1 1/2 miles from the house. It was a old 2 story building that had been vacant for the last 15 years. We heard the call on the scanner as a smoke investigation but 1st truck on scene put out a call for all personal and mutual aid from other departments. We got there 5 minutes later and flame was just starting to roll out of the roof. 30 minutes later the roof and front wall fell in. Real interesting watching 4 ladder trucks from the city and 3 townships set up and work to contain the 1/2 block long blaze. Randy

Once spotted a big rig tow truck tow an entire setup into a campground, allowed the owner to unhook the 5er, and then towed the broken down pickup to the repair yard.
This is a great tip for all as I had the starter go out on truck and truck/trailer was towed to dealership. We were on vacation and passing through West Virgina. After the truck was unhooked from trailer and wrecker was gone, the dealership found out they could not get a starter until next day and we would have to remove the trailer from their lot. We could not stay in it for our own safety we were told. Also told that the trailer would be stripped by morning. (Moses GMC in downtown Charleston WV.) GM paid the first tow of whole rig to dealership as truck was still under warranty. My bill to tow just the trailer 40 mile to nearest campground was $300 as towing company needed big rig truck to hook to pin where they only used the medium size truck to pull whole rig. LESSON LEARNED, Tow to nearest campground 1st as complete rig so there is a place to stay safely, then deal with truck by itself. Randy

This thread got me thinking about seeing a launch and Mid March is looking promising. We did see a satillite launch from the Daytona grandstands back in 96 when down for 500 week. Could not believe how long we could see something that was so far away. Daytona must be at least 60 miles to the north of the space center. Randy

Very normal--Unfortunately gas lines and fasteners are normal black pipe and steel. No stainless or anything treated to resist rust. Some frames are painted better than others but they all show surface rust fairly quick. Randy
