RE: Travel to US & Emergency Health Insurance

We have always used BCAA and never had a claim. However they insure through Manulife. So this year we went with Blue Cross.

RE: Advice on Direct HD Satelite Equipment and Setup

Just a quick tip.
Get about 100ft. of RG6 and make 1-50ft, 1-35ft, and 1-15ft. That will give the ability to connect up with the shortest length of cable.

RE: Television Best For RVs

I've had a 26" LED Toshiba for a couple of years. It has been down to freezing but not much below but it works just fine.

RE: Long Range WiFi Repeater Kit for RV's

I have one that is a repeater. It picks up the available WiFi and boosts it. I get a real good strong signal but it is only as fast as the camp WiFi, which is dependent on the number of people on line.

Shaw Direct dish size?

I used to use Starchoice when traveling with an 60cm elliptical dish Which I got rid of a few years ago. This year I went with Shaw Direct and asked for the 60cm dish. I was told if I was in the US I had to use a 75cm dish and that after February the 60cm would not work in the US.
Does anyone know anything more about this?
I would prefer the 60 as the 75, with a 2" bracket does not fit the mast of my old 1 5/8" tripod stand, is a lot larger to store and heavier to manipulate.

RE: Snowbirders choice of dress

My favorite has always been dark socks and dress shoes with shorts.
Yes. I only wear that for formal occasions like weddings or funerals.

RE: Eurekas Ca. to Redding Ca.

If I remember right Berry Summit is about the highest around 27-2800 ft. We are planning the same route in late January. I've love to hear how it is when you go.

RE: What is the cure for - sun baked, yellowed door panels?

I would not use any self adhesive sheets. As a rule they are not colour fast and will bleach out quickly.

RE: burner or tracphone

The tracphone is CHEAP!! It's on sale for 7.99 at CVS. Why not just buy 2 of them?
Buy one from a store in Canada, and use that one while in Canada.
And buy one from the US. For around $20 bucks total investment it sure beats trying to figure out which one works in what country! :B
You cannot buy a Tracfone in Canada. They do not work here and are not sold here.

RE: Manulife Problems ,yet again!

I have done a fair bit of research on it and I've always ended up with BCAA but they are pricy. This year I'm thinking I may try Blue Cross.

RE: Going thru customs

Every time we go we learn something new. We now don't bother with any meat, potatoes or citrus. Last time they took all our rice because it was not in the original packaging. Plus red peppers from Mexico. So went shopping in Sequim and bought red peppers from Mexico.

RE: Jayco Comments Anyone??

I've got a 2003 Eagle 29 . We had one slide motor burn out because of a stuck switch and the CD player doesn't work. It is solid comfortable and we love it.

RE: Anyone have beef confiscated, and some other questions?

We had beef confiscated at the US boarder a few years ago. Last year they took all out rice because it was in a plastic container and did not show the country of origin. They also took out red peppers from Mexico. So we went a block and bought red peppers from Mexico.

RE: Departure checklist

It is best if you write your own as every RV is slightly different. I always go around and get the rig ready and then my wife gets out the checklist. Is is amazing how often I've missed something.
