RE: Steering Problem With My 2005 Cummins "Shipping Crate"

sounds like the coupling between the p/s pump and vac pump.. turning and braking is putting enough load that is slips/grinds..I don't beleive his has a vac pump. My '04 does not and his is an '05. 150k on mine and no noise yet. you are correct having never having worked on that new of one till after the post anyway to know is belt driven.. :o one i am working right now is an 06.. :M

RE: The Ultimate DIY thread - Ubuilding (Pics)

nice work as usual...I can relate with the I have it so may as well use it mind set..is why I chose the handle recycler :B even my new furance was recycled... haven't started glassing the shell yet..lack of cash..have made some changes to the shell though like filling in my big bay window for a smaller with the similiar air flow...thinking of making a video for my photobucket account so i can show and explain how i built my camper..

RE: talking insulation: spray-in polyu vs polyisocyanurate sheet

I have read they make a poly spray foam that is fire retardant for use in enclosed areas were it would be difficult for someone to get out..the polyiso is some good stuff to use is what will be going around my refer unit do to it's fire rating..the only problem i see in using sheet foam is getting a tight seal..i had to use can foam on my bead board to tighten it up...my two cents.. I have not been able to find a poly spray formula that says it is fire retardent but I would certainly be interested in it. I have read that Bigfoot uses sheet foam in some campers but maybe used spray foam in the past. Bigfoot and S&S are two manufacturers I wouldn't mind copying. with your unit sheet foam may work alright..i figure it has the studs more evenly space than mine.. the down side of building a camper that big in the space of one car garage using junk tools.. :B plus the round edges of the steel should make it easier to stuff into cavity and i will keep an eye out for the article about the foam

RE: 12v electric.

sounds like your best bet is to just clip the wires and start over putting inside like a northwoods unit.. makes it alot easier later on

RE: Raptor SUV!!!

This is one fantastic vehicle. He forgot to mention the price but I would bet that it is well over $100K. It would have the power to tow just about anything but would lack the required GVWR to carry any meaningful loads. This is a rich guys SLUV(Super Large Sport Utility Vehicle);). ArizAl is listed below the video base price is $149,500.

RE: Fiver TV - 2002 F-350 Lariat 7.3L Diesel Dually

the 7.3 trucks are good... the transmissions need some upgrading to be really reliable the torque converters are not to good at high horsepower..it should haul a 41ft f'ver well enough..i worked on a 99 that was used to haul a d4 cat and a cat compactor to job site.. just don't try to tune it too hard..

RE: Stolen Camper

sorry to hear your truck and camper was snatched.. glad to hear has been recovered already hopefully the only damage is a bunch of easily removed parts..tires, batteries, etc. so you can get back on the road quickly...

RE: 5th Wheel Hitch-Rails

when I replaced the bent rails that were in my truck when I got it I just used 1/2" grade 8 bolts, lock washers and nuts and tightened them up with impact gun till they crushed the ribs down and they were still tight when I took the hitch out three years later..so would suspect your's were not tight enough to start with..

RE: Chalet's TC Washer and Dryer pictures

that camper is pretty nice..the chair needs to go and have storage cabinet instead..plus couple less windows in dinette area..the weight is not to bad bad is only 1,000 over what i figure my current unit will weigh if i ever get finished rebuilding it :( dreams of a unit like that is why i am building a f550 standard cab... just to makes sure i'm not over gvw :B

RE: 1997-1998 Fleetwood Caribou 11m compatibility

that camper weighs nearly as much as the dakota plus the base is 48" wide your dakota's bed is only about 46" wide between the wheel wells.. that camper is larger than my 11fk franklin and like mike mck i am going to a f550 for safety with mine.. so no it won't work get bigger truck or find smaller camper

RE: DIY Stable Loads?

you could try logging wedges.. drill through them to make a slot to clamp them on and they are available where ever chain saws are sold..
