RE: Grill regulator frosts up

Hope the tank is not overfilled!!!
Propane condensing in the black pipe/12' hose making its way to the grill's regulator, water vapor in propane.

RE: The best photovoltaic solar panels

Yes, ya want 10A then it would be 22v, want 22A it would be 10v.
But you don't get to pick the voltage, the controller output is that of the batt so 220/12.5 = xxA latter in the day 220/13 = xxA

RE: The best photovoltaic solar panels

sure there are more amps at 36v to get the same 220watts but the 220 watts is being transformed. Do you need it transformed to 12.8765V or 13.2754v, it is changing all the time (both on the input and output as conditions change).
With a 12v panel, nothing is being transformed, the panel matches its output to the battery.

RE: Why 6V battery instead of 12V?

I do try my best to answer a specific question with a specific answer.
" It seems that a 12V battery will provide energy to a load at 1/2 the amperage that a 6V does and amperage is what we are trying to conserve isn't it?"
I read the OPs question differently.

RE: FW Westlake axle bearing size?

Inspect bearings and races, no need to replace good ones.
Replace double lip seal.

RE: Battery charging

I used this chart for OCV/SOC, it claims to be for when the battery is not in use.
The charts for in use don't say how much use??
There are many more that don't match each other
http://www.marxrv.com/12volt/voltchart2.gif
Then there is a temp compensated spreadsheet, search for soc.xls

RE: Fleetwood Evolution E1 - Outside stove

Clean the stove and give it a try.
Have someone measure the pressure at the 16 psi regulated high pressure port the stove connects to, adjust or replace regulator.
Get a Coleman 2 burner stove.

RE: My First Solar Panel Arrived

How close to Arcata, California?
On a clear day you could use the live data from
http://www.nrel.gov/midc/apps/calendar.pl?site=HSU&year=2013&month=2
along with batt voltage and IV curve to determine how well the panel is preforming.

RE: add on power lift

Interesting... I could see a hydraulic lift working... Just replace the whole whiffle tree with a hydraulic cylinder and (provided nothing leaks) viola!
Basically what they did, see page 2 of a four season parts book

RE: add on power lift

I contacted Barker manufacturing a few years ago and they suggested they still sold the power lift for Colemans, $400 IIRC. I think there were two versions.
If you are still interested, give em a shout.
It was never listed under products.
http://www.barkermfg.com/
You can see the parts on the last page of this accessories parts book
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/37743407/COLEMAN%20PARTS%20BOOK/2007/2007%20coleman%20accessories.pdf
They had a hydraulic lift system at one time.

RE: Battery Experts Please

if you were to buy the very best DC battery on the market, and tomorrow someone marketed a better yet DC battery, does that mean that the battery you bought yesterday isn't a tru deep cycle anymore ??
Yes, ye ole one would become some sort of 'hybrid', magically.
If a battery spec like weight is missing or not supplied then it has no weight :)

RE: well, 45 Watt solar panels aren't enough, evidently

I would think Isc was an actual short circuit (0 volts) vs charging a battery (13.5 volts). Effect may well be the same.
He sees amps as high or higher than spec Isc while charging. To me that means the irradiance is higher than 1000 or the panel is outperforming spec. His IV curve is flat 0-13v
