RE: Deep discount on 1 model year old TH?

So far I've been working with 3 dealers via email and phone. One other dealer hasn't bothered to get back to me.
Of the 3, one dealer is retail and the other 2 are wholesalers often mentioned on this site. With my trade, the wholesalers are less than 2K below the retailer for the exact same unit. If I can sell my 5er myself, it will save me several thousand more since the price is better than the wholesale offers. If I can't sell it in my timeframe, I won't worry about it. Life is too short.
As things are now, I likely will go with the retailer since they are 4 hrs away versus a 2-day drive. If my unit sells, wholesalers here I come.

RE: Double pulling

As far as being a "real" biker I will just have to be ok with myself being a poser until I can teach my dogs to ride also. lol
Do what I did...get a sidecar!!! I've ridden in 49 states, 8 Canadian Provinces, and 21 European countries. My 1988 GL1500 has over 200K. I've had dogs and cats with more riding miles than most people I know who own motorcycles.
My days of long miles are over. BTDT!

RE: Double pulling

This subject of "double towing" really gets my dander up for reasons. We go to Florida from Michigan for a couple months every year and see gobs of triple RV units on the roads and Interstates there even though everyone who posts regarding Florida laws says that Florida doesn't allow it. BS!
No, it is NOT BS. It is illegal in Fla for non-commercial vehicles to tow more than 1 trailer. The fact it doesn't get enforced much is a different matter. The speed limit also doesn't get enforced much, but going over 70 is still illegal.
Make your choice and deal with the consequences, but don't say you didn't know it was illegal.

RE: Camp sites in southern Utah - near Moab & Zion

1 week in Moab is NOT enough, so just accept that as fact and enjoy your time there with an eye on visiting again.

RE: Hand Guns

Shotgun is my prefered home defence .
"home defence" does not stand up when in a RV, especially going from state to state.
Depends on the state. That is one reason it is vital to know the laws of the states you travel to.

RE: Double pulling

Then as long as you have a commercial license that says you can tow doubles, and your medical certificate is current, you are good to go. You will also have to keep a logbook while pulling the doubles, just like when driving a commercial truck.
Not true for the majority of states that allow double tow.

Deep discount on 1 model year old TH?

For those of you that bought a TH one model year old, did you get a deep discount? I am considering a 2013 Cyclone 4000 instead of a 2014, but I only want it at a very good price. Otherwise, I might as well order a 2014 with the options I want instead of settling on a leftover.

Closest water & electric CG near Canyon de Chelly

What is the nearest CG with water and electric to Canyon de Chelly? According to their websites, Cottonwood and Spider Rock are dry camping only.

RE: Where on your RV do you put your states visited map?

We have the day/night shades on the big rear window down almost all the time. Wife ordered a large beach towel with the states on it. She hangs it with suction cups on the window and marks our stops on it.
I don't particularly care for it, but like I said, the blinds are almost always down.

Try Old Federal COE Park in Flowery Branch. Hard to get a reservation, but well worth the effort. Thanks for the tip. Reserved a nice spot.

RE: Wichita Kansas and tornados

IIRC, May isn't a big tornado month in the midwest. During the 2 yrs I lived in Wichita, I ducked into a gas station once to avoid hail. I never ducked to avoid a tornado.

RE: Hand Guns

OP, you have read some good and not-so-good posts here. There are a lot of threads on the subject already. Only you can decide if you want the responsibility that goes along with owning/carrying/using a firearm.
If you decide it is right for you, you need to know the gun laws of the states you visit. What is legal in one state is illegal in another.

RE: Hand Guns

Nothing makes a bad guy run like the sound of A semi auto slide snapping closed
And here I thought it was the sound of a pump shotgun racking that made the bad guy(s) run. At least that is what Joe Biden says. BTW, if you're racking the slide to put a round in the chamber, you better hope the bad guy doesn't have a gun. If he does, you're probably already dead.

RE: Double towing in Canada

It is illegal to double tow in Florida, too. Seems like the OP has luckily avoided tickets there, too. BTW, some people dispute the Fla law even when they have been shown the statutes prohibiting double towing for non-commercial vehicles.
