RE: Warning...Warning...More Blue KoolAid needed ASAP

Is this not an information sharing site? I read information on here frequently but post much less often. If nothing else, Rick's posts do make people think and hopefully research. These trucks are not cheap and I am not aware of anyone on this board with unlimited income. I was a happy 7.3 owner. Then I was a not so happy 6.0 owner. Now I have completed rehab and moved on. I for one appreciate any information that anyone provides on the various makes and models of TVs, TTs, TCs, 5vrs, etc. Someone on here has a signature line that reads something like; "When someone tells you to buy the same rig they own, listen. When they tell you to buy a different rig then they own, really pay attention". Apologies to the author if I butchered this, but it makes perfect sense. There are always things we don't know and may not find out until it is too late. This post is my opinion.

RE: 2005 F250 Diesel

It does not have an exhaust brake, but assuming it has the integrated brake controller tow/haul, it does have an engine brake that is quite effective. I have a 2005 F350 diesel. Here is one explanation from another site. http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/415173-tow-haul-mode-engine-braking-how-does-it-work.html

RE: Water In Holding Tanks For Winter?

So we probably have 2 gallons or so in each tank right now and are going to winterize them. We have already drained all the water lines, drains and water heater. We also plan to pump some antifreeze into the lines and P traps. Would we be OK with just dumping a bit more antifreeze down the drains to get some more antifreeze in the black and grey or should we really look into dumping them? We did flush both the grey and black tanks REALLY well before leaving. I personally believe you will be fine. Problems occur when water freezes and has no where to expand. 2 gallons in a 30 or 40 gallon tank leaves a lot of room for expansion.

RE: Gilbert

We have been happy with them through three different trailers and one claim. We always give our regular agent (home owners and cars) a chance to compete but he can never come close.

RE: What Brand tires to buy?

We have been happy with Nitto terra grapplers. They are noisy but wear well and grip excellent.

RE: Changes Coming to CG Cable TV?

For those that needed a (descrambler) box from the CG, did you have an analog TV? Those would definitely require a box. If you have an newer TV, with a digital tuner built in, why did you need the (descrambler) box? Could it be because the CG managers do not understand? You have to sort out the why here. It may be that CG cable can be received on your digital TV and not on the analog TV, without the box because the box acts as a converter, as well. This is my question. I have newer digital TVs, but had to get boxes at two different parks this year to see cable channels. I did try to run directly from the pedestal but received no channels. Put the box in line and I have one working TV. In both cases there were only 2 or 3 OTA channels available.

RE: Fifth Wheel Front Bunks

We have had a Cougar 322QBS for about 18 months now and very happy with it. We really like each room having a door for privacy. This is great for older children or even adults. The bathroom door in the hall way is good also as no one is inconvenienced by it. To each his own. The only thing we don't like is that you have to be creative if trying to create a larger bed in the front room rather than using the single beds. It can be done though.

RE: FL. Sunpass

Just the box, but if you choose to buy the sun pass mini ti is only $4.99 but not transferable between vehicles. They used to give $5 in toll money when the mini was activated not sure of they still do.

RE: Ooops - left hot water heater on

As long as you have water in the tank to heat it will be fine.

RE: GS ERS and VMC Towing Props

Edited to correct the towing company name in the subject line. They did a great job and deserve recognition :)

GS ERS and VMC Towing Props

I was very concerned when I recently found out (on this site) that All State was handling dispatches for Good Sam ERS. We dropped Allstate a couple of years ago after they left us stranded not once but twice. My other complaint with Allstate was that we were trying to explain the issue to someone in India, and it was painful to say the least. Well, I hoped I would not need the coverage, but lo and behold our Ford disappointed us once again and I needed the service. I should clarify that this is not a rant to trash Ford, Allstate, or Good Sam. I was actually quite impressed with Good Sam and VMC towing out of Miami. Our POS truck was towed to the dealer and our fifth wheel was towed to CB Smith park in Pembroke Pines, FL. Disney will have to wait, but we are safe and secure. Thank you Good Sam ERS and VMC towing.

RE: RV park

If you stay at the West Chester KOA it is about 5 or 6 miles from the Thorndale train station which provides rail access to center city. I am not sure about public transportation to the station from the CG. Good luck. http://koa.com/campgrounds/philadelphia/ http://www.septa.org/stations/rail/thorndale.html http://www.septa.org/maps/system/

RE: slider won't slide.....

I assume you are referring to a slide room rather than a slider hitch. If so, check to be sure the battery is fully charged.

RE: Does GS roadside assistance cover me for rental RVs?

Wouldn't the rental company cover roadside emergencies on their vehicle? I have never rented one so I am not sure, but I would assume they would want to determine who tows or works on their RV .

RE: AllState RV Road help??

Last I heard Allstate is handing the dispatch for Good Sam. Jim I really hope not. I had nothing but bad experiences with Allstate. Good Sam has been responsive for me though.
