RE: Help buying an older Class B

You mention the a/c blowing warm air...red flag! Refrig....red flag...appliances not used....this has too many red flags. I say this in the vain that 2K is a great price, but it is the getting it up to par for camping that could prove the killer. I have a RT, so I would want this checked by a RV Shop that do all of the work competently.....and hear their recommendations after they go over it thoroughly.....and what the bottom line is. Take a look at RT International - they have used RT's for sale. Safe travels.

RE: Generator fuel additives.. yeah or nay

Dean, Sta-Bil does the preservative part, but nothing else. You can get a can of SeaFoam, which will keep carb or jets cleaned and preserves the gas also. I have been using the SF for years in all my engines, and have yet to have a problem. Another thing that I also do is buy ethanol free gas for all my gens, lawn equipment, blowers, and Honda outboard. My neighbor used the ethanol in his 4 stroke outboard and within no time it was at a complete stop....and abouy $1100.00 later he was on the road. There might be other products out there, but I found the SF and it has proven a winner. Safe travels.

RE: Lost cat in RV park found ..need to find family

Hope the owner sees the notice and can claim their baby. As I type this, I have a "found" cat that I have had for about 6 years now.......he's chipped now and I wouldn't take a ton of money for him, they make great companions. Safe travels to all.

RE: Is a generator necessary?

As some one said, go ahead and try it in the manner you desire to camp - if it works then your okay. We started out with the same concept, but then seen where having a small generator available would be nice, so we bought a Honda 2000i, and it has been worth every dime we spent.....back in '02! We could pull into a Rest Area, turn on the generator and make a pot of coffee, and then be back on the road. It was also great when we boondocked for a week or more...charged those batteries right up. It is a personal call, but you can always change your mind. Safe travels.

RE: Maggie Valley NC

X2 with Joe B. Try the local eateries, they have excellent service, and the food is very tasty. Maggie Valley is a very nice, relaxed place, we visit there often. Safe travels.

RE: My Aliner Experience

Thanks for sharing your ideas, recommendations, etc., it could help someone make a solid decision. I have friends with an ALiner, they have talked about the lack of storage, but I believe they try and carry way too much gear. Enjoy your new home, safe travels.

RE: A Class B I can drive in town and that has a REAL bed?

We have a RT190P, which we converted to have a real bed. We got tired of that cushion idea, and went to The Original Mattress Factory and had them measure and make two mattress's that are 10" thick and it has been nothing short of super sleeping. We opted for two mattresses knowing that the water pump and electrical connections were on the drivers side. If sometime we need to access those areas, it is much easier to move the one than a whole big mattress...especially if it is raining! It is much easier maneuvering the B around, and you can park almost anywhere and blend in, but not so with the C or others. Safe travels.

RE: Use of generator while going down the road?

We do it all the time with our '05 RT190P. We use it for the refrigerator and in the summer months we use it to run the air conditioner, never a problem. You just paid a hefty price for the repair, and the tech is giving you good advice. As for running in a cg, we never do, but we use it on the road. As for gas mileage, I really haven't noticed any appreciable difference, but it keeps the generator in good working order. Safe travels.

RE: Jim's RV Park Zephyrhills, FL

You might want to check out Hillsborough State Park there, it is a great park and plenty of space. Go on line to Reserve America, you can see the sites avail, etc. With the snowbirds heading home, they should be able to accommodate you. Wish the best for your mom, and know she is glad your coming to her. Safe travels.

RE: Maggie Valley N.C.

Check out the Mast Brothers General Store in Waynesville. This is one of those stores that carries all the things we seen as children. It is two floors and definitely worthwhile to visit. One thing we always get amazed at is their candy section, remember those old wax candies with the juice inside, the sugar daddy suckers and what seems a never ending display of goods. All the eateries along Soho Rd (main route in Maggie) are super, tried them all, would go to any and be more than satisfied. Enjoy and safe travels.

RE: Sarasota or Venice FL

We have used the Oscar Schere SP in Venice for years, great park, and recommended to all. If your into bike riding, you have access to the Legacy Trail, also great for walking. There is a resturant just outside, Rosebud's, they have great food. They have hours of like 5 for the first folks, then around 6 for the others, believe it is cheaper on the earlier setting. Venice has some nice eateries, and you can get to Sarasota easy. Hope this helps, safe travels.

RE: Using Sea Foam Injector Cleaner

Have been using it for years, and can only give it solid marks. I add a can to a quarter tank of fuel in my truck, about once a year. In my boat motor, I treat the gas with seafoam and it runs like a top. I use it in all the engines I own. I don't subscribe to if a litte works, then give it a lot - too costly.! Someone mentioned about when you get the injectors cleaned, what do they use? Check your owner's manual, they usually have pretty good advice. Safe travels.

RE: Florida Property Values

We bought down there in '08, and enjoy having a permanent destination of our liking. If you would like more info from a snowbird who owns in FL and comes to VA, send me a PM. Ron

RE: Should I rent to friend of a friend

It will be the biggest mistake you could ever make. Your new to your rig, you worked hard to get it, and you make the payments each month from your paycheck. Don't be a fool and fall for the guilt trip............let them go rent one!! It takes real nerve, no brains, to ask to use a persons motorhome......akin to asking can we use your house for a weekend party, we'll be good, ha! Safe travels.

RE: Camping World RV Service:Good or Bad?

There has been a lot of pros and cons regarding CW and their service. Do a search and you will see what folks said. Me personally, I think I would check out another facility. Safe travels.
