RE: Gulf Shores State Park

Yes you can. We plan on getting there sometime around 1 PM on May 29th for 10 nights.
We was there last October and loved it for 5 nights. So we doubled our nights on this trip.
Are there any fried chicken places there? I am allergic to shellfish, but love fried chicken.

Equinox Valve Stems??

I am ordering a TireMinder pressure monitoring system for my MH and Equinox (toad) There are two types of sensors/transmitters. One is for brass or stainless stems and the other type is for aluminum stems. The valve stems on my 2010 Equinox look like hard rubber.
What type of sensors/transmitters will I need to get?
Edit: I figured this out - this thread can be deleted.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

We started to pack all of our stuff in it today. Now we can get the car in the garage again. Once everything is in it I plan on getting it weighed to see what needs to relocated. As of right now I have a lot of empty storage left.

RE: Windshield replacement

I just had my new motorhome windshield cracked on the way home from the dealer yesterday. The rock hit it at the base and it cracked upwards about 4" and then went sideways about 3". Being I just bought the MH and insurance policy the day before I am hoping to just get it repaired myself without the insurance involvement.
Will this be possible and about how much would it cost? It is out of my view so stopping the cracking anymore would work also.

Dual Receiver with 6" Drop??

In order to pack my bikes on our hitch I will need a 6" drop hitch with a dual receiver.
Is there such a thing? My dinghy requires a 6" drop receiver.

RE: Best, cheap Insurance

I have quotes from BlueSky, Progressive, Geico and GMAC. The best quote is BlueSky with the $1,000 deductible. They have an item called "Dimishing Deductible Express" that lowers the deductible in half for each year with no claims. The difference between BlueSky and Progressive (next lowest quote) is $457. The deductible on the Progessive quote is $250 and it also has the "disappearing deductible".
But one thing has been confused. The BlueSky quote is based off of my selling price (best deal) plus tax and tags. The Progressive one is based off of the MSRP (I think). I want to make sure I am comparing apples to apples.

I was wanting to know the same thing. It seems like the GS Trip Planner would include a map to print out also. This is why I do not use GS Trip Planner.

RE: Buffalo Point Arkansas

Yes, I did check the length of the sites. I picked one of the two 61' ones and picked that particular one due to the width also.

Buffalo Point Arkansas

My brother and I have scheduled a trip to this campground. I will be in my MH and will be in a pop-up camper.
Is this park OK for a motorhome as far as the route to get in and out and the spaces? I checked RVParkReview, but the newest one is two years old.
I now have 4 weeks scheduled and we don't get our new motorhome for two more weeks.

RE: Paper Maps??

If you travel the same states often, we really like the 'Benchmark' atlas for each individual states. (Amazon) They're the best we've found. We do use a computer mapping program and GPS, also, but you can get a much better 'feeling' about the area by studying a map. We like to explore and travel back roads so this works for us.
An 'all in one' road atlas book with all the states does not give you the details that Benchmark does. It also marks public parks and campgrounds.
It appears that the Benchmark atlas is mainly for the West. Most of our traveling will be in the South or Southeast part of the country.

Paper Maps??

My wife want actual maps to look at while traveling instead of the GPS or computer images. What is the best to get? We have a collection of state maps, but she is thinking a book similar to the below link would be better.
Any suggestions?

RE: Looking for a Ready Brake, new or used?

Found a new ReadyBrake on ebay much cheaper than other sites. This legit?
ReadyBrake
It is from AdventureRV where I bought my complete ReadyBrake setup. Below is the link on their website. This is not the complete setup.

RE: Ready Brute Elite Question

Being this is mainly a Ready Brute discussion I have one.
How can I lock/secure the towbar onto my MH to keep someone from taking it? I did not see any type of locking system when I ordered everything.
I don't think theft is all THAT much of a problem, but the thing is held in the receiver by a pin. Locking pins are readily available from many retailers, from Walmart to RV dealers to 6 Robblees to U-Haul dealers to Ratco Hitch etc.
Do a google search for "locking receiver pin". You might even find them on Amazon or eBay!
Thanks for the response. Being I have not seen one of these I did not know if it would come apart at some other location. I had already planned on getting a locking pin.

RE: Surge protector recommendations

On my new Tiffin MH it comes with a basic surge protector. Will I be able to use my current SurgeGuard portable 30amp protector with a 50>30 dogbone to just check out the shore power pole?

RE: Where are you going for your season opener?

We are heading back to Gulf Shores State Park with our new Tiffin Allegro 31SA. The trip is planned for the last week of May into June for 10 nights. If we enjoy it to much to come back home we may move over to some other state park for a few more nights.
