RE: Potential dealings with my RV

AHA. Thanks for your postings. The Grand Junction address is phony. So, this time, he's operating out of Nebraska. It IS a scam. I asked in a return email where he was located and he hasn't responded. My guess is he knows I won't fall for his BS.

Potential dealings with my RV

Anybody out there ever heard of Dennis Cameron? He portends to be a leasing agent and/or reseller of used RVs. It's unfortunate that in today's environment, you can't take anyone at face value; hence my inwuiry.

RE: Water heater w/ anti-freeze

Thanks to all. Obviously, I thought the answers you gave were correct or I wouldn't have asked. I like the idea of making the water heater working as a contingency. I did use the bypass when I winterized. I waqs very concerned about turning it on at all.

RE: What did you do to your Class C MH today???

Well, the anticipated buyer changed his mind and bought a big Class A. So, it's still for sale. DW vacuumed and shampooed the interior carpet with her shampooer. Looks really nice. Waiting for a warm day so I can pressure wash it.

Water heater w/ anti-freeze

I am showing my Jayco MH next week to a prospective buyer. I have winterized it with non-toxic anti-freeze. The buyer may want to see if the hot water heater works. My question is: what will happen if I turn on the water heater with anti-freeze in it?

RE: What did you do to your Class C MH today???

Hadda winterize it due a couple of days below 32. Of course, the temps went back up to the 60s and 70s. I just don't want to take a chance on any pipes breaking. Got her ready for storage.

RE: What did you do to your Class C MH today???

Went to New Orleans for a week. Rig behaved beautifully. Only problem is the loading and the unloading. Seems to get harder and take longer, the older I get.

Getting ready

Getting it ready for a short 6 hour trip. Still takes as much work as a longer trip.

RE: do most of you remove the coach battery in the winter

Nice answers for all you owners that have access to power during the winter. I don't. So, I have LOST a couple of batteries because they wouldn't stay up during winter. I now remove it, store it, and keep the trickle charger on it.

RE: CAR DOLLY

We have had a Stehl Tow dolly for 7 years. We towed a Scion AX behind it ALL OVER THE PLACE. The first thing I did was add electric brakes. We even went over the Vail Pass in Colorado with it and had NO trouble. The only trouble with it is we have to make sure we get the Scion lined up carefully so it stays on the metal ramps. The Scion's wheel base is pretty small. And the tie-downs take some time to get tight but overall, I would buy another one.

RE: RV Buyers USA

Good God Almighty. Seems that once you buy an RV, you are stuck with it forver. Can't sell it because of the scammers out there. Can't sell to a dealer because they won't give what it;s worth.

RE: A Pirate Wants To Buy My Bigfoot!

Let's see...I had one from the Philippines, one from Malaysia, and one from Grand Junction CO. I didn't bother with the foriegn ones but I did try to learn the id of the CO "buyer." Seems the name he used was a legit dealer four or five years ago but hasn't been around Grand Junction for years. I'm guessing a scammer found the name of this used-to-be dealer and usurped it for his scam. Hoped that I would fall for the seemingly legit RV dealership that used to be.
And I agree, somebody must fall for these scams or they wouldn't still be around.

RE: What did you do to your Class C MH today???

We just got back from a week's visit to New Orleans. As usual, a couple of things went wrong. The refrigerator stopped getting LP gas from the tank and would only work electrically. We carried our perishables on the road in a cooler with ice in it. Then we discovered a water connection leak under the vanity. Finally, on the way home, we stopped for lunch and the generator wouldn't crank.
So, I gotta fix these before I can entertain any offers to buy it. I'm fixin' to drop the price to see if I can generate any sound offers. So far, I've had only inquiries.

Charging batteries and getting it ready for a trip to New Orleans. We have been off the road for a year now and it's time to get back on it.
