RE: Fifth wheel questions

keep the knob pulled out for normal operation , if storing for a period of time without shore power connected ,push in to disconnect the battery otherwise you will drain the battery from parasitic drain.
Keep in mind the inverters are bought bulk and cheap to the manufacturer ,the more load you put on them the harder they have to work, hence little dimming and maybe flickering.
You could all ways check the connections to make sure all is tight, CAREFULLY or with all power disconnected and tested.
If you plan on keeping the trailer you could all ways up grade to a better inverter.
You could all ways pull the panel cover off and see if there's any 12v wiring to those fuses . No wiring /no fuse ect, if there's wiring try a fuse and see what it works and label it.

RE: Fifth wheel questions

our 07 challenger 29 trl was actually 35' 3" and I replaced the inverter because it actually failed completely on a camping trip. But it acted the same way before it failed. That nite I hooked up a battery charger to the battery which back fed the system and all 12v was good , had to keep fridge on ,and so on.The next day I replaced the inverter and life was back to normal.
That little knob must stay pulled put for normal use , that is the battery disconnect.

RE: Help me decide. I plan to buy in the next two weeks

I liked the quality of the cedar creek as you can see in my sig. But at first was leaning to the Columbus 365rl. After much reading about both, some problems with the columbuses schwintek slide system was the deal breaker. I never had a problem with a hydrolic slide. Our camping cousins have a new silver back and love it. Search schwintek problems on this foroum and start reading. It could save you headaches down the road. Can't comment on the sierra/ sandpiper sorry.
Hope it helps.
Rich
Haven't needed cedar creek service so I can't comment ,but have read on this forum they were top notch.

RE: Which one: 2010 F250 6.4L or 2011 6.7L

6.7 absolutely.
Much more fuel efficient, much quieter, stronger, etc.
X2 - Love the new 6.7 , and that's coming from a "06" PSD F-350 TV / and a "08" F-550 PSD work truck.

RE: Between the tires chocks?

RE: Air compressor

I bought this one a couple of weeks ago - it was on sale and was about $20 off what the website says: Craftsman Compressor
Yep I have one of those also, a little bit different tho.
Craftsman professional 3-HP w/a 4 gallon tank to 150PSI.
A great little compressor and it has served me well and still does,
it fills my truck tires to 80 PSI with no problem. But when I went to top off my trailer tires at 105 to 110 it wouldn't budge, nada, plus it's to heavy and bulky, and on the road you still need 110v. So I bought the wife the Viare and never been happier.

RE: Air compressor

Old compressor quit, am now looking for a small 120 volt portable compressor. Trailer tires take 110 PSI. Not looking for something with a tank.
Many posts on compressors. One of the better 12v units is the Viair 450P. When you compare compressors you need to compare cfm with pressure. The cheapos may have high pressure out but very low cfm. Or high cfm and very little pressure. check out the viair web site. I bought my Viair from Amazon.
Used my Viare 450P this weekend to top off my Goodyear G614's 110psi trailer tires. no tank , super quiet , and quick. Among the best toy's I bought for the wife this year. Also from amazon...

RE: Sink pblm

our unit has 3 tanks , black- toilet , galley "kitchen" ,bathroom " sink / shower.
a galley button is for the tank level of the galley tank.
look out side for another drain handle curb side , you should have 3 - black , galley, bathroom .if not all together in the water works compartment.
hope that solves that problem.

RE: Advice on Sizing truck Requested

Hi, we pull the same trailer with the truck in sig .stock . with absolutely no problem , with power to spare and a very comfortable and relaxed ride.
With a 4 foot level on my bed rails the bed still sits a touch high ,loaded, with fire wood , hitch , cooler , and a chest tool box with a grown family of 5.
and a full tank of fuel.
Best decision we ever made.
Cheers ,

RE: Drained Battery

Is your battery disconnect on or off ? with disconnect off shore power can't power inverter to keep battery charged, draining batteries in days.

RE: How big is too big?

et2 is correct you need to find out your pin weight. Look at the door or do an internet search for the tow ratings for your truck. I have a 36" 2004 Cedar Creek that I pulled with a 2003 Dodge 2500 CTD from day one. The truck handled the weight and pulled fine. I suspect your truck will be as equal. The dually will be more stable. I have towed heavy and light and everything in between. All of that being said, I just purchased a 2012 3500 Ram CTD max tow package etc. I have not yet towed with it but I know it will be more stable. I bought this truck with a future purchase of a larger 5er in mind. Also remember a lot of RV sales people will tell you untruths about what your truck can really tow. Good luck and check the numbers and enjoy.
You're going to love it. We have the 2010 dually with the 6.7. I just had a 76 gallon auxiliary fuel tank installed with pump transfer. It is so nice never having to stop for fuel when pulling. The thing I find I like the most is the 4:10 gears.
2010 dually / 6.7 / 4:10 ???
