RE: poor man needs advice

If you don't like a rear radiator in a DP, why even consider a purchase? I agree with horizon451.

RE: Identifying Dual Pane Windows

Tiffin has windows that are thicker than a single pane window. Can't remember the thickness, however.

RE: Extended Warranty

I wouldn't purchase any extended warranty coverage. Most people advise against them. Over the years I've owned RVs I've had coverage but never used the extended coverage. The manufacturer's warranty also wasn't used. Save your money, bank it and use the money as needed. Don't waste money on extended warranties and that goes for all extended warranties, not just RVs.

RE: Dash rattle battle won, for now

Fleetwood quality was on vacation the day your unit was built it would seem. Your dealer must have known about the noise. Perhaps you should have taken a really long drive, heard the noise, and refused to sign the papers and not handed the check over.

RE: none torbo diesel

If the owner doesn't know he has a turbo, I wonder if he ever looked at the boost gage or wondered what he was for. Did the owner even maintain the coach. Maybe he doesn't know how many cylinders the engine has or how many speeds in the transmission. At least the owner didn't tell you the engine had 500 hp.

RE: Battery charger

For my house battery I used a small dash-top solar charger which I put on the dash on a towel. Kept the house battery charged while in storage.

RE: Guaranty RV Coburg, OR

I purchased a new motor home from Guaranty in 2000 if I remember correctly. Larry Orr and Randy treated us very well. The whole process was most pleasant even when we made modifications to the dinette. Larry has remained a friend and has kept in touch with me all these years.

RE: Anyone used Hartford/AARP rv emergency road service?

Coach Net is great to talk with provided the area you have problems has cell phone coverage. Twice we used CN; one place had good cell coverage and the other place had no coverage. Both places were on I-25 south of Socorro, NM. Both times from the time we contacted CN to the time we ended up at the same repair facility was 12 HOURS! One of the tow trucks came from TX and didn't have the correct tools. The other tow truck came from the repair facility and drove back to home base with his foot flat on the throttle. Both times it was MIDNIGHT or later when we stopped at the repair facility. Throughout all the 12 hours CN was very calm and nice to talk with.

RE: Tips for Selling Class A

Have spent a bit of money advertising on three RV sales sites and on Craigslist for over a year. Finally consigned at an Albuquerque dealership and the 2006 Sea Breeze LX model 8341 sold in two days! My advice is to consign the RV to a good dealership and let the dealer sell it.

RE: Motorhome Financing

One of my RV salesman friends told me recently that banks will finance up to 80% of the wholesale price. Not the Low Retail on the NADA site. He said to go to the NADA book for the wholesale prices.

RE: My complaints about Class A for sale ads

I've posted on Cragslist and get some responses asking if I'm in need of money. I have posted extensive descriptions of items for sale, prices and pictures. What do I get? Emails that aren't even relating to the items for sale!

Having problems attempting to read posts that stomp on the English language. People should use the "check spelling" link and the proper use of punctuation and English links.

RE: Back on the road $3200 later

Think about informing Ebay about the RV dealer and the sorry service you received. Maybe Ebay will not accept any ads from them in the future.
If you received anything in writing from the dealer, the BBB and state government might be able to help you recover any costs. Complain to state and local governments. See what they will do for you.
