RE: GMC or Dodge 3500?

Yep.. had an used 11 overnight, first thing wife said when she got in was felt cheap.. Actually was looking at an 08 dodge, when I had to replace my wrecked 07 duramax... ended up with the chevy because I got a better deal.. Was used with low miles.. Honestly they all have good and bad too them, I just like to talk trash to get the diehards fired up... Too me getting on here and asking WHICH truck too buy, to some extent is really pointless, because 9 out of 10 times people reply with what they own... The guy that says, with the big 3 any or good choices, they really are the ones who know what they are talking about.. One guy says his truck is more comfortable the next guy thinks his is... TOO me you line up a ford super duty king ranch against dodge and GMs best the quality of the ford just pops out at you... but dodge has great engines as well as the duramax and allison.. kind of a useless question , dodge guy going say dodge and vice versa... Even though I own a chevy I would look at the new ford..... them are badd a** the fit and finish and quality is far better than the dodge and even chevy... Have you personally checked out the NEW RAM's? The fit and finish on my 2011 Longhorn is flawless, actually the seatbelt part that you hold and push in had a little plastic tit on it from the moulding process, I just cut it off. Seriously they really have stepped it up with these 4th gen RAM's.

RE: 2005 Ford F350XL Lariat

Afraid for good reason Keep it stock and it will be a good motor. Tuner/chip will increase soot and that in turn can cause turbo vain sticking, EGR valve plugging, EGR cooler plugging. The 6.0L can be a bulletproff motor for under $5k if you have someone else do the work, of about half that if you do it yourself. The 5spd auto is a good trans, and the motor makes good power stock, add some goodies and it will scream! Parents had an '04 6.0L with an Edge Juice, aftermarket EGR cooler. Put 50k on it then sold it to go larger (International 4400). Had to pull the turbo once for sticky turbo vanes but can be done in the driveway in a few hrs. Many people are wanting to unload their 6.0L because they are afraid of them, so you can get them for cheap. Add a little money and have a very capable towing machine.

RE: 2005 Ford F350XL Lariat

find a 06/07 lbz duramax..... or even a dodge but stay away from 6.0psd... Man really feel sorry for all those who keep looking at these nice trucks on the lots... Most dont know about the 6.0psd motor...

RE: Weight police opinion?

I seen one last month, was mid-late 90's style ford, had a hugh (older) 5th wheel on it... back of 5th wheel had a big car hualer with a mid 80's chevy pickup on it and in back of the chevy it had a full dresser style motorcycle... I should have turned around to get a pic..

RE: Used diesel truck prices?

Ya my wrecked 2007 duramax, book for like 36k plus which is what I got from insurance.... Look on Craigslist same trucks for mid 20's to 32k or so... ALWAYS start high, easier to come down some than go up.. BE PATIENT, someone will buy it.. We have a pre-emission 06 LBZ and just for kicks I priced our truck out on KBB last week. Holy Smokes!!! After 6 1/2 years and 69K miles she's only dropped $8K in retail value from what we paid for her in Jan 06. Evidently the pre-emission diesels are holding their value very well. I'd price'er out at high retail and sit on it till she sell's if you really have to sell'er. If our beloved D/A ever blows up, we're stuffing a new crate Duramax in'er and we'll keep right on truckin with'er. I don't know your situation but I'd hang onto that pre-emission 05 5.9 like grim death. If that sucker is a 3500 quad cab dually, IMHO you've got a better truck than a new 2012 truck! Happy camping!!! See y'all down the road!!!:)

RE: Used diesel truck prices?

Thats what I would say... I just had to replace my wrecked 2007 duramax... what I have seen the prices are low kelly to even wholesale.. Most are not retail, maybe some dealers..... clean low miles can bring little more. I can't imagine you will have much trouble selling a 05 Cummins. Now a 6.0 Ford would be a different story.

RE: 2003 F250 ...need some input please

Ya but they are 6.0 good clean 7.3 are more sought after.... Friend of mine just sold a 2002 Lariat 350 CC SB 7.3 for $20K with 40K miles. It was a garage queen. I wouldn't take a dime less then 15K for my 99, and from what I have seen I would get it, but then I would have to buy one of these newer gems, I think I will stick to the old 99 7.3. For a lot less than 15-20K, I can get 6.0s that are perfectly clean, low mileage, no OASIS issues, no mods, no tuners, etc.Trust me, I had a 04 6.0 with no mods no tuners and maintained more than called for and ford spent 8k trying to keep it on the road. That pos left me on the side of the road many times. If you gave me a 6.0 I would do my best to sale it,and I would feel bad for the buyer. My REPAIR list was longer than Skips in only 36k miles. That truck was the biggest POS I EVER OWNED. WILL

RE: 2003 F250 ...need some input please

STAY AWAY FROM IT.... Everyone ( or most) knows this motor was a big Flop... Ford knows it... Im sure there are many out there that have had little issues... But for that kind of $$$ Im not willing to gamble, especially one sitting on a lot..... ESPECIALLY a Dodge or chevy lot....

RE: FINALLY paid off my 2007 Classic LBZ!!!!!!!!!!!

No kidding thiefs like them.. friends kid had one stolen from hotel, few minutes after parked... On hotel camera they got in and gone like they had a key.. Now, just keep an eye on it and install a good alarm. I planned on keeping my 07 LBZ till the wheels fell off, but it disappeared from my driveway never to be seen again. The LBZ's are the ones all the thiefs want.

RE: FINALLY paid off my 2007 Classic LBZ!!!!!!!!!!!

Great I just paid my 07 off several months ago...36k miles on truck just like new.. was going to keep for a long time until some guy decided to hit me and total it.. Barely walked away.. couple days after the accident I recieved to new free and clear title.. well enjoy it is a good feeling.. After paying over $40k for my CCSB 4x4 LBZ classic in july of '07....I'm very happy to say I just put the final nail in the coffin yesterday. She's mine! I'm officially over car payments. I'm keeping this truck for a LONG time. I can't imagine a truck giving me any better service than this one. 90k miles on mine.
