RE: Kodiak C5500 Dash Parts

Some parts can be replaced by looking at Factory OEM Parts. Even if not listed, sending a request has found some parts for me.
Another place that use is Nally Buick GMC. This site will show all the parts.

RE: Looking at a 2008 Fourwinds 27ft need advise

What type of Roof?
My 34' real length is 35' 1". Most are longer than there manufactured length.
If Fourwinds called it a 25C then that is what it is.

It is probably TPO. Chevy chassis is not a problem.

RE: Detroit Greenfield RV Park to Port Huron

On a Sunday either route will be OK. Check out MDOT for local road work. There were signs about new construction starting today when we drove up to Port Huron and back yesterday.

RE: Some advice for a newbie RV'er

My RV is almost as old. Have no fears about using it for many more years. But I keep it well maintained. Finding one that has been well maintained can be a problem.
I see all kinds of post here from people that have purchased 80's and 90's MH's with minor problems. But overall lots of enjoyment in them. Others have purchased similar models that were not properly maintained. They are spending time and money to just get things to run instead of enjoying MH.
Read some of the threads about buying a used RV. Here is one.

RE: Dinghy towing question

You need the brake system, a base plate on the Yaris (not sure if anybody makes one), and lights for the Yaris. You can save some bucks by using a surge brake system to provide braking.
You can't change the laws of physics and you can't change what the manufacturer of your motorhome says abut the need for supplemental braking.
Surge brake system such as?
Ready Brake.

RE: LEDs replaced florescents but get hot

I replaced all the florescent insides with LED strips. I like the outcome except for the heat. Put voltage regulators on the 12 volt wires feeding the the fixtures. Set the voltage a 12 volts. Stopped all the heat and did not change how much light the strips put out.
I posted my experience on another forum. Inexpensive Fluorescent to LED Upgrade . Check out last few pages of thread for these mods.

RE: Trouble shooting Onan generator & ac to dc power problem.

Both of your problem could be caused by bad battery connection. Especially the ground connection to batteries and main grounding points. I would start at the batteries and work from there toward generator and converter. Check and clean both positive and negative connections.
You did not mention any voltage checks. Checking voltages with a volt meter while trying to start generator should help to find problem.

RE: GM GVWR/GCWR chassis/powertrain questions

Is it fair to say that most of the 450/4500 chassis are used on Super C's and thus are also equally near their GVWR before a trailer?
Most Super C's were built on 550/5500 and heavier chassis.

RE: Where to Sell Motorhome?

RV.Net does not allow selling or advertising of items.
Magazines are always a month away from when you want to list your MH.
List it on EBAY. Both buyer and seller have some protection there. Look at some of the listings already there to decided how to list yours.
If you do not belong to the Kodiak chassis forum listed in my signature. Join. You can mention you have it for sale and a email for buyers to reply.

RE: LED upgrade on C921 lights

Depending on what you need for your 921 bulbs. If all you lights are the 2 lamp overhead fixture you can use LED's like these. 921 bright white LED's
If you need 921's for a lamp then you need some like this. 921 bright white LED's.
I prefer bright white for my LED's. Others like them in Warm White.
Since you mentioned more light I posted bright white.

RE: GM GVWR/GCWR chassis/powertrain questions

There are some Chevy cutaways that Work Horse modified to be 4500's. Some Chevy vans had the Duramax engine. But they like the Ford's had lower power ratings.
Gulf Stream built some Class C's on this chassis. But I have not seen one in a few years.

RE: Dinete to reclining chairs? Anyone done this before?

In the real long B+ thread, there are a couple of posters who converted their dinettes into something else. And the dinettes did have water tank and electrical box in them.
If you want to spend some time looking, do it this way. Go to the following link, which will bring the thread up in print form. Then use Ctrl-F (Cmd-F on a Mac) to search the thread. There really is no better way.
http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/157894/print/true.cfm
Alternatively, you can search the archives, older than one year, for posts by Gary Swanson, and Cheeze1, on the keyword dinette, Class C forum. I don't know if I have the username right for Gary Swanson but that's his real name. Gary made it into a U-shaped dinette, and Cheeze1 made his into a bed.
Here are some links to pictures posted in another thread.
