RE: New to camping with a dog your advice?

The COE park will give you plenty of room....we use the one in Montgomery, Gunter Hill. I'm sure he'll make a fine camper and companion.

towing a saturn std 5 speed

I'm going to look at an 04 saturn tomorrow, it's a st trans, 4door, seems in great shape for about 4700. Many yrs ago i towed with a stowmaster tow bar that i still own, minus the base plate. I have a 2002 fourwinds chateau, 32 ft.Is it practical to buy it and hopefully find the mouning plate from stowmaster? Thanks for some advice.

RE: replace crt with lcd over cab

Sorry it took so long to respond, Had a little mishap the other day when my knee gave out. wasn't very sociable for a few days. got a shot in it this morning and should be chasing the wife around the table in a few days. Thanks for all the replies!! I see the first thing i have to do is get the old beast out, then see what i've got to work with. Ronfisherman, my cabinets look exactly like yours....I have a 2002 fourwinds chateau. I have a 32" that I was hoping to use, but i'd have to redo the cabinet doors.. DW says she'd be happy with a 26" so i'll measure what i have to work with in a few days when i can get the old one out. Thanks again, I've always had great responses in here

replace crt with lcd over cab

I've seen lots of suggestions and pics for replacing the older tv's for class A's but can't find anything on a class C. Mine is over the cab with cabinets, no bunk. Any suggestions would be appreciated, or lead me to a site that would be helpful.
thanks.....dan

RE: scratching off my bucket list

Thanks bettynlen, I like that idea of the pins and bb. I won't let myself be tied to a schedule. ssems like every trip we've made we had to be someplace at a certain time..I'm giving myself almost a month to get to NM, so I feel that we can enjoy the trip as much as the destination.

RE: scratching off my bucket list

Thanks everyone for the great replies! I think 'winging it' fits us better...as everyone has stated, so much to see and so little time. Also having a big dog and no toad will limit us somewhat. I'm retired AF and have talked with the folks at Ellsworth AFB and got very good vibes from them. Most all interstate from here to there and will stop when we get tired (about 6 hrs a day driving) I'll plan each day at a time after SD. My nephew has the "lease" at Ennis MT airfield so I can park there for a few days and use his van to get around. I've been there but the DW hasn't so it will be fun showing her the wild west of Virginia City MT. At this point, I'm overwhelmed with the possibilities. My son just bought a home north of Salt Lake and my plan is a few days there then a leisure drive thru Utah, seeing as much of the great parks as time will allow, on our way to NM for the balloon fiesta. Do I sound excited?? that, and a bit nervous. there's a lot of space out there!

scratching off my bucket list

Gettin' nervous now...going to start on my first RV trip from AL to MT Rushmore then on to Ennis and Virginia City MT, down to Salt Lake then on to Alburguque NM then back to AL...Planning on NM for the balloon fiesta on the 6th of Oct. Any words of wisdom of things to avoid or to see would be a great help. Just the DW, spoiled dog and myself in our 31 ft 2002 Chateau. Have family in Salt Lake and NM so not thinking of campgrounds there.
thanks

RE: Dirty to filthy used Class C's and TTs rant and rave

So many experiences....isn't life exciting. I had 33ft allegro for 15 yrs, when we decided to sell, we put it in a consignment lot and it sold the next day. Recently we decided to get back into rv'ing and searched for a class 'C'. As some have said, it's hard to believe the owners ever cleaned them or maintained them. The owner of one insisted that I take it for a drive, Scared the stuffin' out of me. The speedometer didn't start working til i was going about 40 MPH and then I hit the brakes, the whole front end shook so bad i thought i was going to lose control. The next one looked good, was kept under cover, just a man and his wife. Brand new tires, 2 slides and a ref full of food. Unfortunately, the ref was off and my wife almost lost her cookies right then. I was about to give up when we found the one we bought. It is a sad statement for how people have no pride of ownership

RE: Homer Spit

I've been to Homer a few times and loved it! I have a nephew who lives there. He's a nurse, licensed pilot, licensed AC inspector and has published a few books on his adventures in AK. He's now restoring a AN2 if anyone is interested in airplanes.send me a note if anyone is interested This is one of his restorations.
