I have a weber q that works fine off of the trow away propane bottles but when i try to hook the adapter up to use the 20lb bottle it will not work. The grill does not even smell like the propane is in there when hooked to 20lb tank.

what temp should hub be with infared thermometer

For you guys who use infared (i am sure i am spelling it wrong) thermometers to check your hubs what temps are you looking for and is it normal to get different temps on different hubs on the same trailer. For example say you have been driving for 3 hours what would be a normal temp and should they all be the same.

brake magnet making noise

Hi I put a new brake magnet on one of my hubs, the problem is when i hit the brake controller the tire stops but when the controller is released I can hear the magnet release (clinking noise) I do not hear this from the other tires. Is this a problem.
Also I did not have to change the pads and when I adjusted the brakes to a slow drag, when i spin both wheels on that side of the trailer one stops earlier than the other I have tried readjusting but can not make them equal is that going to be a problem.

when you repack bearings and you put hub back on i have heard you tighten down the nut to seat the bearings than loosen it, than retighten to finger tight is this the proper way.

RE: blown tire collision or comprehensive

I spoke to geico today and they said that it was a collision because the tire hit the wheel well. I told them to read my comp policy and one of the comp covers was explosions which i told them the tire exploded which caused the contact with the wheel well. THEY THEN CHANGED IT TO COMP COVERAGE.

RE: got voltage but no brakes

how do you tell which wire is the positive and which is the negative, this is the last brake the wires run to the three other tires first

RE: got voltage but no brakes

Is voltage 8.6 at other wheel(s)as well, and is/are it/they fully engaging? If yes and yes,it's time to pull the brake mag and check it and connections.
My knee jerk is that a wire or connection was damaged during the blow-out. Did any tread peel away and flop around?
A few tests.
Unplug 7 way cord and pull the break-away device (make certain house battery is charged and online:W) to see if brakes engage. If yes the problem is outside the brake assembly on wheel and wireing to front of trailer so look from front of trailer going toward TV and controller. Reset break-away to prevent discharging house battery. If no,test as below.
There should be no resistance between chassis of tow vehicle and trailer frame to begain.
If brake mags are grounded to frame, there should be no resistance from mag - wire to frame.
If mags are grounded by continus wire from TV,should be no resistance at connections.
That should get you started. If this doesn't find the culprit,we will go to + side and controller next.
when i got the 8.6 volts the tire would still spin freely when brakes were engaged, I can hear the other 3 tires engaging (buzzing noise) but none at this tire. when the blowout happen the tread did flop around and dash read trailer fault for a second but the wires look fine up to back of break assembly

got voltage but no brakes

I posted this earlier and did not get any response, I have one tire on my camper that the brakes are not working when i take voltage at the splice behind the backing plate i get 8.6 volts when brake controller is fully engaged but no buzzing noise. I have jacked the tire up and tried the brakes and they are not engaging on this tire. I did have a blowout friday on this tire. Any advise is appreciated.

RE: blown tire collision or comprehensive

yes it does matter because if it is defined as collision it, they can and will raise premiums. If it is comprehensive they can not raise premiums, and tire to the road is not a collision the tire was where it was suppose to be on the road.

blown tire collision or comprehensive

I had a tire blow out and i have geico insurance. The blowout caused damage to the camper because i had to get off the bay bridge before i could pull over. I have been told that i am at fault and this will be a collision claim. I told them if I am at fault for a tire blowing (which the air pressure was checked before the trip and brakes and tires were serviced less than a year ago) then they can call me Jesus Christ for now on. How can this not be a comprehensive claim it is an act of god. Anyways they are reviewing the claim again because i told them if i am at fault cancel all my policies.

RE: no brakes help

I checked the wiring and i have 8volts at the backing plate where they are connected. Do you think the wire is broken inside the hub and if so does that mean i will have to repack the bearings to get to it.

no brakes help

I had a tire blowout on friday on top of the bay bridge I had to get the camper off the bridge before i could change it. Now this morning when i was about to leave i noticed that the tire that blew is not getting any brakes, the three other tires are and the wire to the tire that is not working is coming from one that is. What do i need to check to figure this problem out.

what do you use to get rid of spots on the fiberglass

I have white oxidized (i am guessing) or faded spots on my front cap of my fiver. I have heard that the zeps floor finish works good. Will it work for this and if not does anybody know what will.
